GT brought enormous changes, did a huge amount of good things for the club, and some questionable things,
but he always wanted the best for the team.
I think he had buy-in from most of the players (we know Capuano wasn't a fan)

His time has come and gone, just like that girlfriend I had when I was a teenager...
it was great at the time but you can't turn back the clock.

He's been an interested observer for many years, but he's on the "outside" looking in,
and as an outsider, we only see the tip of the iceberg.
So much goes on inside a club, that only if you work inside the club, you'd be aware of the machinations.
It's like someone who worked for 10 years in retail, then got out and did something else,
if they go back into retail, sure there's some familiar things, but hey so much has changed in the meantime,
they'd be playing catch-up the whole time..

Grant Thomas is all about Grant Thomas.

I don’t doubt his passion for the club, but he clearly had an axe to grind for years after his sacking and while I thought some of his criticism was perfectly warranted, some of it also smacked of sour grapes and his opportunity just to prove he was right all along.

All that being said, this administration certainly needs an all mighty whack from within and Grant would certainly be the man to do.

Why is it that the media turn to Thomas to quote on StKilda or why do people think his opinion is remotely relevant?

The Zebs coach is most likely the only player he coached still at the club and he hasn’t been actively involved for a million years or thereabouts.

Of those who played under him, I am told that no one still communicates with him on a regular basis and the big name players won’t have a bar of him.

The reason your cars rear view mirror is 5% in size of your windshield is proportional to the time you should spend looking forward and behind you.

Despite this thread just being a piss take, the thought of anyone wanting to return to a guy that has spent the last decade potting the club in media and social media is beyond comprehension.

He was handed the keys to a Ferrari and was bloody good at driving it fast in a straight line but was found wanting when race tactics were required.
