Saints watching Goldstein

Being monitored by the Saints apparently. Bloke is 30 but seems to be going ok still. Is a FA at the end of the year.

Be ok for a year or two I guess.
Reminds me of getting Capuano from them though.
Good ruckmen in his twilight.

Goldy would teach RoMa a thing or two as an expierenced ruck.

Except Capuano was supposedly heading into his prime years at 25/26 when recruited.

I haven't googled this, but I have a really good memory for all sorts of obscure events/people/details...
When he came to us in about 2001, he had 2 flags with Norf.
Sadly, his mother (or another close female relative?) was going thru chemo/radiotherapy for some nasty cancer,
and he found it tough to juggle family commitments with training.

I don't recall if I heard this on this site, but he apparently was put under pressure by the club to step up
and commit much harder to our club- he was asked by a coach or other official "look, are you a footballer, or a nurse?"
which hurt him terribly.
That's his version of events, as related to someone who posted it somewhere.
So he was under the pump, I think he played 20-odd games before hanging up the boots.

We should have a look at McEvoy -- I hear he goes OK.
Or Stanley, that fast-moving guy from Geelong.
Or Hickey at the Eagles.
Lucky we've still got Longer though!

Didn't Grant make a statement saying we don't accept mediocrity or something and sacked him mid season?

Nothing story really, we like most clubs light on ruckman are paying attention to see what he is going to do.
Could be handy for a year or two but knowing us , four year contract on 600k a year.

Would be handy for 2-3 years. Read it on the Age online last night. Must be something to it. We could get him and I don't think we would overpay too much.

Really, you label a dual premiership player who played over a hundred games of AFL footy as having “no heart”.

Poor form again Sayntger!

Looking good for 2023 dads army midfield Ted...

Goldstein 34, Hannebery 32, Gibbs 33 & Daisy Thomas 35 secured & Daniel Wells 36 & Shaun Burgoyne 40 by then might be gettable by then as well 👍

Go Teds army

Don't mind Goldstein as a teaching ruck and a year or two of service.

Would certainly aid Marshall's development and probably extend his own career by an extra season if Goldstein could take some heat off at the contest.

Certainly ends the Lewis Pearce experiment.

...that said, would Josh Jenkins be better value?
