Judd on the saints
On footy classified last night.
" No doubt with the injuries they have got , the Saints are over performing."
Also one of the others, Lloyd, I think, stated Richo is coaching well this year.

Re: Judd on the saints
The Saints are not "over performing". Whilst having injuries to key personnel, they are having a crack and achieving some success.
If Lloyd has made ANY comment, I'd just throw it in the trash.
Give me one flag & I'll go to my grave a happy man.

Re: Judd on the saints
Richo has done well to get us 5-5 given the horror injury toll and bad 2018 season. He has also helped develop a few players, both new and old. Some players have taken their game to the next level and Alan has played a part in that as the head donger of ST KFC.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: Judd on the saints
Lloyd did say Richo was coaching well. But he also said (something like), the Saints won't necessarily be thinking about how he's coaching this season - but whether they want him to be coaching them next season.

Re: Judd on the saints
Also good wraps on the Saints from Tim Watson and Garry Lyon on the radio. They were looking at the teams with injuries and we were right up there (top 4 I think on the injury ladder) so they said we are over performing or something similar. Not sure if the boys on SEN also said Richo is coaching well but considering all the injuries, he and the other coaches are definitely earning their keep

So Judd says we are overperforming with all our injuries
But ......
Dud says we are underperforming with all our injuries
Who to believe?

I'm far from AR's biggest fan, and not of the opinion he's going to take us to a flag. But if he cops the blame when things are bad, he needs to recieve some kudos when things are not so bad. Fair is fair.
Still a hell of a lot to work on... But a couple more wins on the board than I thought we'd have at round 10.

Judd also said he didn’t eye gouge Cambell Brown...

Re: Judd on the saints
i know one thing to be TRUE
if Judd or Lloyd had said anything even slightly negative - the would both have been absolutely trashed here - which is the norm for most media reports this year

But they didn't so .....
Taking into account our injury illness list and our current youthful inexperienced line up are you in the underperforming camp, the over performing camp or the right where we should be camp?

Re: Judd on the saints
How did they say Carlton performed from about the ten minute mark of the third quarter until the end of the game? If they said 18th placed Carlton were really over-performing, then I’ll take it, otherwise...man, because we managed 1 goal 3 behinds from that point until the end of the game.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Are Carlton overperforming with a 1-9 record and a % near 80?

Morrison said it was a miracle win against all odds. Could AR be sowing the seeds for a miracle extension if nothing outstanding shows up on the doorstep and we keep over performing (goodness knows what the footy classified chaps who coined that expression thought our normal form would look like.)

Re: Judd on the saints
I think AR has done a good job considering a lot of our very good players have not played one single solitary match for us this season, and several other very important and key players have played only a few games, so yeah, he has done his job pretty well.
But I'm holding my own counsel until after the games which could end in terrible hidings like Port in China, Geelong at Geelong, and Adelaide at Adelaide, and perhaps even Sydney at the SCG. Still got a long way to go.

Re: Judd on the saints
It's no solely AR. The team is much better due to the effectiveness of a strong coaching team. I would say be careful what you wish for. I want Richo to stay and keep that coaching team together.

Re: Judd on the saints
The forward half of the ground is faltering terribly.
Our injuries are pretty much all in the back half.
The same forward half problems remain.
I don't think we're we'll coached this year at all.

Agree that our forward half is struggling or at least our delivery into the forward half Is the problemBarryGrogan wrote: ↑Tue 28 May 2019 11:43pm The forward half of the ground is faltering terribly.

However the forward half hasn't been injury free - both McCartin / Lonie were fit then both would line up forward - reckon they would make a positive difference at least in structure
Fairly sure Bruce hasn't been 100% right either

Re: Judd on the saints
The forward line hasn't worked for years
On ballers move the into forward 50 attrociously & don't kick enough goals themselves
So what has improved apart from depth of older recruits?
Just wondering if you think Richmond and Collingwood are over performing

Re: Judd on the saints
Once it becomes obvious we aren’t going to make the finals he should be let loose immediately, due to Norf cutting off Scott, and god knows what Carlton are doing, so we aren’t third in line.
As Rooey has stated, no finals this year, no Richo next year.
It’s really that simple.

Dont think that's quite what rooey has said.Special wrote: ↑Wed 29 May 2019 6:33am Once it becomes obvious we aren’t going to make the finals he should be let loose immediately, due to Norf cutting off Scott, and god knows what Carlton are doing, so we aren’t third in line.

I think it's more along the lines of there being a clause that gives the board the option to terminate the contract if we dont win a final.
They may choose not to exercise that option if its felt that we are heading in the right direction.
If they had to make a call right now, I reckon he would be keep the job in 2020,
When you take into account injuries and the level of development / improvement in our list this year

If we win the next two and assuming we don't fall off a cliff after that, I reckon he’ll be safe for next season.

Re: Judd on the saints
You have to admit that our defensive structures are holding up incredibly well. We have all sorts of problems in the forward line but to be so strong defensively with the personnel we have missing is very impressive.
Consider that we're 5-5 and this (IMO) is our best 22 when fit and in form
B: Webster, Carlisle, Geary
HB: Savage, Wilkie, Roberton
C: Billings, Steele, Hannebery
HF: Gresham, Bruce, Parker
F: Lonie, Battle, Membrey
Foll: Marshall, Steven, Ross
Int: Acres, Clark, McKenzie, Sinclair
Emg: Brown, Newnes, Dunstan, Kent
Geary, Carlisle, Roberton, Hannebery, Lonie and Steven have been unavailable for all or most of the season. Not many teams will cope with having a third of their starting 18 unavailable.

Re: Judd on the saints
Aw gee, let me think, one of the greatest footballers of our time and a current AFL football directer, or our dudley.. Hard question, but I think I will go with Judd.
