Ah - Lyon to Freo! OK, yes of course. Whatever - there's more to this than Brad Scott (or BS as I prefer to call him) stepping away for the good of the team. Yeah, right.

I really would be amazed if the St. Kilda footy club were to recruit Scott as senior coach. AND disappointed, for just one compelling reason.... EX-Malthouse assistant.... really? do we need ANOTHER one of those????

Re: Brad Scott
Footy Classified reminded us last night about the period just before Brad was appointed. If you believe the rumours, the Kangaroos first choice was going to be Nathan Buckley. This is before Figjam had even had any experience as an assistant coach.
Apparantly Figjam may have used the offer that North provided as leveridge for the security at Collingwood and the promise that he would get the senior coach gig. The reason they brought it up was because of the succession plan offered to Bucks and the reasons that Collingwood offered it.
They (especially Nathan's biggest fan - Eddie) wanted to lock him in and not lose the opportunity of having him coach Collingwood and not potentially seeing him successfully coaching another team. Classified mentioned Sam Mitchell and Hawthorn possibly having a similar siuation with Sam Mitchell on the radar for a potential senior coaching gig. Hutchy thought they may nned to contemplate locking Sam in so that they don't lose him.
Both Juddy and Lloyd said that they were pretty sure that Hawthorn aren't going to entertain a succession plan or locking in any guarantees to an assistant, even if it's Sam Mitchell

Scott confirmed he didn't want to be part of any rebuild and the club needed fresh air to reinvent itself.

It has hurt him deeply
Personally I dont think he has anything lined up to walk "straight into"
In the interview on 360 last night clearly loves the players, the job, and was still talking about US ( kangas)

Re: Brad Scott
Not a fan of Brad Scott... more petulant than his brother... I recall when he took over at Norf... he referred to himself as a third person rarely saying "we" just seemed to blame everyone else but himself
As a coach I think he is not much better than Richo... and fwiw at least Richo seems to be finally getting better....
Personally hope Scott didn't get a job, cause I reckon he sold Norf down the farm to keep his dismal record looking better...
First video I ever watch is after Norf loose... to watch him carry on like a spoilt , surly kid... he has no class what so ever...
In fact I think he's an a grade arsehole

That is correct Ted, key statement being: Scott said he didn't want to be part of a rebuild!tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Tue 28 May 2019 4:35pm Scott confirmed he didn't want to be part of any rebuild and the club needed fresh air to reinvent itself.
Scott must have something lined up IMO. Interesting.
Scott was shocked because it got out, (leaked by club on purpose) he wanted to coach out the year, that's why he was shocked. Read and spin it anyway you want, Scott made the decision to leave, North just bought the end forward!
When your negotiating a payout, you are always happy to paint your former employer in a good light, think about that one!
Scott has a new job, don't worry about that, the last to find out these things are the dud supporters and armchairs!
Don't worry Dud, you will have a new coach to bash soon!

Scott, B. may have out smarted himself. Thinks, offer three obvious options, the Board won't consider the one that involves me leaving, I'll say I don't want to be part of a rebuild, the option they probably have to go for, they will beg me and after a suitable pause I'll agree to stay for a lot more money. What could go wrong.

Re: Brad Scott
He said on AFL360 that he offered to stay for the rebuild. He felt that a new voice could be best for the club, but he'd do it if they felt he was the best person for the job.Yorkeys wrote: ↑Tue 28 May 2019 7:54pm Scott, B. may have out smarted himself. They felt he wasn't.
So they'd agreed that he'd stay on until the end of year then leave. But then the whispers got out and Robbo was writing an article about it on the Friday, so the Board wrapped it up and got rid of him on the spot.
Whether it's true or not, who knows. But according to him, he was effectively sacked.

When the similarities between yours and Stonecolds posting style was highlighted, you referred (above) to him as ‘Lazar’ without any prompting from anyone else. That’s a weird thing to say about a poster who seemed to vanish just as you showed up...
I can imagine juggling so many personas can get a bit tricky!
