I have always been of the view that you put your best available players on the Park looking to win games (every game).

Not a judgement on "pay packets".

IF St Kilda made a call in regards Hickey and Longer because of "pay packet", St Kilda were wrong by my knowledge of successful Clubs and the administration of successful Clubs.

In life, you never get out of trouble by selling your best asset and retaining your dud assets.

It just does not work, never has and never will.

Why are we hanging out for DH yet have Armo playing in the 2s? Armo averaged more disposals at a higher efficency than DH last year, and kicked 8 goals to DH’s 1.

Seems to me like we already have a DH-like player on our list under contract.

I haven’t seen one person come out and say it was a good deal. Sydney probably couldn’t believe their luck!

Armo had a better year than DH in 2018, that’s a fact. If you think we’re getting a 2015 DH I think you’re going to be extremely disappointed.

DH is not worth $4M, that’s a fact. I don’t have a problem with him, just what he’s costing us, now and in the future.

I don't have an issue with moving Hugh,Nathan,Mav & even Tom on. IMO it was the right decision as they were all surplus to our needs the only thing I will say it could have been Billy instead of Tom but neither will required players in the big scheme of things.

He did not say we had to retain Longer and let Hickey go because of salary cap pressure.

We let Hickey go because he was not worth paying $600,000 a year to play at Sandringham which would have happened if he stayed with the Saints.

At 28 years of age Tom is not getting better and as our prime ruck last year he was disappointing.

If Simon and Matt didn't hatch the plot to get Dan across to the Saints Hickey would still be lining up for us most weeks

And...interesting that you mention that "Pierce" and Marshall were to be given a go. Yes!! And the selection committee and Cho picked Pierce ahead of Marshall in round 1. If Pierce didn't get concussed, he probably would have been given 2 or 3 games before Cho realised he had to play RoMa.

If Pierce didn't get concussed and he did play a few games early this year we may not have even won some games. I'm sure you and the 'real supporters' would be on here telling us that Marshall is being 'developed' in the magoos.

Plus...there'd be a chorus of apologist experts telling us that it is best for RoMa because his body is not ready to play ruck in the seniors each week and just like Hunter, Rowan is building confidence with Sandringham.
