Re: Team Selection
I thought Paton was starting to look a little cooked last week. He’s been great and a rest will do him good.

Re: Team Selection
I would hope this isn't the only change however i think it will be with White in ( like for Like).
And if you assume the bench is where the outs are coming from listed players from last week - Dunstan ( 13 clearances), Acres , Parker ( maybe under the pump a little).
those protected remain protected

Re: Team Selection
Sheesh. McKenzie must be in possession of the photos Mav had of Cho.
I think after naming all of the kids and us getting excited ... it will end up being Long for Patton. I’d hope it would be White however.
And why we drafted Nick Hind’s outside speed (which we’ve craved for years) and not play him is baffling. Still.

Re: Team Selection
i got the impression when Richo spoke at a function for long-term members last Monday, that Coffield is likely to replace Paton with White also in the mix.

Re: Team Selection
Good ins all around. No idea how they will trim the bench down to last two. Dunstan and Acres are locks IMO.
Good decision on Paton too. Give the kid a break do he can recharge. That grouping of games he got will do him wonders going forward. Player of the future. Bookmark it.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: Team Selection
Phillips still doubtful? Long in for him, perhaps. Re Paton's replacement: White will get a strong message one way or the other. Not sure the point of including Billy on the interchange list. Problem with Rowan?

Re: Team Selection
Newnes and DMac would want to put in blinders this week. Selection integrity is looking more shakey as each round goes by. When is this coach going to make a statement? Maybe that's his problem. Soft.

Re: Team Selection
I think Billy as an emergency might mean Marshall could be managed like Paton.
Fair enough I guess if he needs a rest.
The bye would normally provide that but I think we will bust a nut to prove ourselves in China.

Re: Team Selection
Thisi is one of the biggest loads of clueless bull s*** arguments ever to be peddled in this echo chamber.
So you take out 2 players in the one week like Newnes and DMac and replace them with which AFL capable players that dont F*** with team balance and structures.
It's like hanging with a flock of Pelicans sometimes.

Re: Team Selection
In case anyone hasn't noticed the cupboard isn't flush with healthy AFL capable ready players that give the selectors sooooo much choice to drop 3 or 4 players. Bugger me dead.

"AFL capable players"
"Structures and team balance"
Where's dragit when you need him? He used to call them 'weasel words'
We're on track for a huge 2020 and beyond. Last year and this year were all part of the plan
Everyone except Cairnsman understands what's required. Leave the running of the Saints to the experts.
The rest of ya are a bunch of pelicans

Re: Team Selection
Weekly reminder that Jack Newnes' consecutive matches streak is exactly as long as Richo's tenure as St Kilda senior coach. I wouldn't waste any mental energy hoping for Newnes to change drastically or for Richo to drop him. Neither is going to happen. We played Newnesy through career-worst form and supposed injury all last year when the season was gone by the bye. He's safe as houses. His name is probably welded to the magnet board.
Yeah nah pleasing positive

I think White for Paton, Acres and Dunstan are locks given their form.
It is between Long and Clark for the last spot probably going to Long as it is indigenous round.

Re: Team Selection
Long was atrocious the last time he played, if selection integrity exists he should not be picked this week. As it is Parker must be close to being dropped as well.SinCitySainter wrote: ↑Thu 23 May 2019 11:08pm I think White for Paton, Acres and Dunstan are locks given their form.
