If the initial poster hints at something being significantly wrong but then won’t say anything what do you expect?
Tell us what you know or don’t post anything. Just looking for attention.
The above rumour makes sense.
Why does it make sense?
Jack had been training and playing with his team mates since this issue started and the mood one could see was one not at all consistent with the fragmentation and often aggressive splits that ones sees when that occurs.
No what one has seen is support from all his team mates. Common sense tells one that we do not have a Carey like situation.
I am not going to repeat the rumour I have heard (which may not be correct), but it is all about Jack and nothing about any issue with a team mate or team mate's partner.

Then why has this issue lead to him all of a sudden wanting out of St Kilda?
All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

It hasn't.
They are two separate issues.
ISSUE ONE
The Cats targeted Steven last year. Indeed from the rumours they have been chasing him for more than one year. No doubt they pushed the point heavily that at 29 he was more a chance to win a flag with Cats than the Saints.
It was well reported that in the end of season reviews that Jack had a very heated meeting with Richo on whether Richo was fair dinkum about the Saints achieving success in the short-term and not just long term.
He decided to stay, but the Cats in recent years have become prolific poaches and so I would imagine they still have him in their crosshairs.
ISSUE TWO
The personal issue that developed over the off season.
PLAUSIBILITY
Do you really believe that Jack would be laughing and joking with all his team mates at training if he was banging the missus of one of them, and they all knew it? Is that at all plausible to you?
No whenever that happens in any workplace lines get drawn and angst happens.

I suppose it depends on who is the more liked player, as you said lines would be drawn. I’d need to know more details.
Though the initial poster indicated we’d be happy to let him go “due to his actions”. That doesn’t sound like standard mental health to me.
But I do find it highly plausible he wants to leave because of Richo.

That is the posters view.
If the rumour I have heard is true I doubt all our officials would feel that way.
Jack has an issue and has to come to grips with it. At times in one's life when one is having personal issues things can fall apart. It has the potential to become problematic and if it spirals then yes could affect the club, but equally Jack may comes to grip with it.
Again from what I have heard it is a Jack issue and is not to to with the club or team mates.

If issue 2 relates to white powdery stuff, I've heard the rumour.
The club is always bigger than the player....if Stuv wants out, as much as I'd love to keep him, now is a great time to trade (given that he gets on top of his mental issues) given that he's almost 30, we are not in the premiership window and he is still highly valued. I'd expect at least a first round draft pick if GWS got 2 first rounders for Shiel.
One rumour is he split from wife/long term partner, and there's a small child involved. If Jack's ex is from the Lorne region, she might be living there now, for the family support network.
That has happened to all of my friends+family in the case of break-up; family ties are hugely important.
So Jack would struggle with juggling the obligations of training and visitation, unless he owns a helicopter.
Let him move to Geelong then, for his own peace of mind.
I will never hold it against him, he owes us nothing, he ALWAYS gave the club 110%
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

does any one at the club know Bronwyn Bishop?

Call me a cynic, but I just have the feeling that Jack simply does not want to play for the Saints any longer. So mental illness is a convenient out. IF the trade rumours are true, I bet your bottom dollar that “mental illness’ will no longer be a problem when playing for Geelong - there won’t be any games missed due to “Mental Illness”. I have to admit that if he really gets traded to Geelong I won’t have any nice feelings for him. For me, he simply let the Club down, particularly as they so desperately need him at the moment.

Club let HIM down by signing Idiot coach with an extension

Yep.
Richo was enough to drive him to drink! (nose beers)
Allegedly.

Jack known to have that problem before Richo arrived!
But, you blame Richo, as you do for everything.

Hi
I am asking here for anyone who had any insights.
Everything is not 1st hand unless Jack says it himself.
I just heard from a person connected to the club that Jack has asked to be traded at season end and the consensus within the club is that is best ( but not desired) due to his actions.
I had heard some tiny whispers but this caught me off guard.
I hope it is true and we can snag a pick around 20. Great outcome IMHO.
As I said at first I'm looking to hear if anyone has heard anywhere that he could be going.
I do not want him to leave.
I will say what I was told did not involve illegal drugs nor infidelity with a senior player's partner.
I guess none of us know much more, I feel fairly confident in the info I heard and wish him well no matter what.
