Jack Stevens Trade
Hi
I am asking here for anyone who had any insights.
Everything is not 1st hand unless Jack says it himself.
I just heard from a person connected to the club that Jack has asked to be traded at season end and the consensus within the club is that is best ( but not desired) due to his actions.
I had heard some tiny whispers but this caught me off guard.

Re: Jack Stevens Trade
Well, I am confident they are true. I have 4 sources 1 is a Saints staff.
I will not repeat it.
I do believe his choices have had a devastating effect on his mental health, and that the circumstances will likely make his stay untenable, but miracles can happen.

Re: Jack Stevens Trade
Love "Jacky Boy" out & out our best player but if he want's out no point trying to keep him. I suspect Geelong will be his destination of choice so we need to get a decent reward if he chooses to go. Can't say I blame him he's almost 30 his chances of winning a flag with us before his use by date is up are minimal & he has been very loyal servant. I would love him to stay but can see why he would want to go

Re: Jack Stevens Trade
Is that all to imply that Jack's problems are related to someone else on the list?

Re: Jack Stevens Trade
Let me preface this by saying I love Stuv and hope he stays but If its true, then we'd get a decent pick inr return and realistically, is he going to be a part of our next eventual finals push anyways? I'd say we're at least 2-3 years away (trying to stay positive) to be a serious threat and he'll be 31 by then. Explosive pace is his greatest weapon and its usually the first thing to go in older players. He'd still a great player but he aint getting any better either.
We have to take a leaf from the Hawks playbook of trading and start being ruthless. Steven isn't as far down the line as a Mitchell or Hodge were but Hawks are always looking ahead and will drop the hammer for the long term benefit. "Setimental value" is not in their vocabulary. We'd be able to get a high 1st rounder and even a player thrown in if we play are cards right. If he is serious about leaving, then we thank him for all the wonderful years and get the best deal for the club.
I sincerely hope he finds the peace he's looking for and if its cant be with us, then that's what's best for his long term health and thats what matters.

Lol...
That would be the cherry on top of Richo’s tenure assuming it ends this year... shortage of A-Graders for many years... then the biggest one he has, that he inherited leaves

Well I what I have heard is true then it is neither, and is of a personal nature that affects him, but no one at the club including anyone's partner.Toy Saint wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 10:08pmor someone else's wife?Waltzing St Kilda wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 9:41pm Is that all to imply that Jack's problems are related to someone else on the list?
Before anyone else posts any Carey like rumours please just think of all the recent video of Jack playing or training. ALL, and I repeat ALL, shows Jack still getting on very, very well with his team mates. That by itself should dispel any such thoughts or rumours.

Yep. Let's not turn this into a smutty rumour forum like Big Footy Player. His problems are probably standard like anyones out there.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

The alleged incidents would not be considered standard. Hence the significant personal distress.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 11:28pm Yep. Let's not turn this into a smutty rumour forum like Big Footy Player. His problems are probably standard like anyones out there.

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Re: Jack Stevens Trade
Ha ha ha anyone who thinks we get market rates for Jack is deluded....
Here’s how it unfolds:
1. Jack requests trade to Geelong to be “closer to family”.
2. Cats offer fourth round pick. We decline.
3. Next day, Herald Sun back page is “Saints damage Jacks mental health by denying trade”, Cats up the offer to a 3rd rounder (if we send a 2020 fourth rounder back the other way) as a goodwill gesture, and are lauded as “good to trade with”.
4. We spin a “we thank Jack for his contribution, and look forward to picking the next Nick Hind with this 3rd round pick...” story.
I can’t help but think this will happen. There’s just been too much smoke since Round 23 last year to now, and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Jack has already played his last game with us.

Can we please stop with malicious statements like this please. The various rumours are not at all about Jack playing with another player's partner. So can we please stop with the references that it may be.

This is what happens when people state rumours as fact.. People will summise... If you don't tell us what the rumour is about people will make stuff up.. Best not saying anything in the first place or just say what it is to stop more made up stuff.saintsRrising wrote: ↑Sun 19 May 2019 11:34amKing12 wrote: ↑Sun 19 May 2019 12:36amWayne Carey like, maybe!SAINT-LEE wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 11:38pmThe alleged incidents would not be considered standard. Re: Jack Stevens Trade
If saints staffers have been as loose lipped as claimed about Jack wanting out, the press would have been all over it. So I say crap.

Re: Jack Stevens Trade
I know your reference is probably about smoke and mirrors, but my first thought in this shady saga was, what the hell and how much is he smoking? Really sad if we lose Stuv because of Finnis and Cho

If the initial poster hints at something being significantly wrong but then won’t say anything what do you expect?saintsRrising wrote: ↑Sun 19 May 2019 11:34amKing12 wrote: ↑Sun 19 May 2019 12:36amWayne Carey like, maybe!SAINT-LEE wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 11:38pmThe alleged incidents would not be considered standard. Tell us what you know or don’t post anything. Just looking for attention.
The above rumour makes sense.
