Giving up Cripps to the Eagles too easily
One of our biggest stuff ups this decade. And despite promises to the contrary this deal has never been reciprocated.

Down hill skier. Soft. Has pace and is a good shot at goal but easily replaced
Looks good in a team with a strong midfield
Loves bruise free footy.

Cripps basically walked out. So I don't see how you could call it a stuff up.

We could've held out for more. The coach at the time didn't try to stop him. The Eagles said they would reciprocate in the future but haven't.saintsRrising wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 12:57am

He was already a good player for us kicking goals regularly. Gets plenty of the ball.

Re: Giving up Cripps to the Eagles too easily
it was get the mid 40's pick or nothing it was only completed in the last 10 minutes of the period so the saints played hardball, tried to get mitch brown in the deal but didn't pan out. Should have got Koby Stevens at that stage but were too focused on Brown.
Was the Pelican period thou so who knows!!!! The stickler could have a extra coffee machine in the break room

Yet, stay tuned, in fairness to them, they took Hickey!samuraisaint wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 12:59amWe could've held out for more. The coach at the time didn't try to stop him. The Eagles said they would reciprocate in the future but haven't.saintsRrising wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 12:57am

I thought cripps wanted home to WA and to play only for WCE. I thought ue refused to play for any other club come that trade period?? May be wrong but you can't keep some one when they've made those intentions clear.

Wasn't given a fair go by the Tosser Flosser, same as Tom Lynch.

There's an election slogan in there somewhere
A Fair Go for All Players.
C'mon Cho. How'bout a fair go for Brandon White

Re: Giving up Cripps to the Eagles too easily
He was homesick for WA and just had to go home to his mummy.
Then when the Saints agreed to get a trade back to WA for him he decided he was so homesick that he could only possibly play for the Eagles and Freo were not an option.
He went out of his way to limit our options so I have the same level of disdain for him as I have for Luke Ball.

Cripps chose to go home and stuffed us over last minute. Bloke is a deadshit.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Yeah, and Ball refused to talk to any other club except for Collingwood after he had been talking to Eddie since midway through 2009.
Forced out is garbage.

Re: Giving up Cripps to the Eagles too easily
I think this happened because it was made very clear to him that he had no future at the Saints.SinCitySainter wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 5:56pmYeah, and Ball refused to talk to any other club except for Collingwood after he had been talking to Eddie since midway through 2009.

In Mission’s book they outright stated that they didn’t think he was capable of putting in the amount of work required to get over his injury... and the coach started playing him less and less.
I think it was a tough decision for Ball who is a loyal guy but he saw the writing on the wall, committed to Collingwood and did everything he could right by them know that RL would screw him over first chance he got.
Tough situation for him but personally I think Luke was completely in the right

Played 4 games in his first season in a team that finished 6th.
Played 12 games in his 2nd season.
