Channeling my inner Edward...
I was recently speaking to someone who has some connections at the Skid Marks. We all know that they have grandiose plans for the Dingley Tip. But the figures are a bit higher than what has been published to date.
The Dawks have $80 million of their own ill-gotten, but Jeffed is seeking another $100 million!!!
Half each from Gestapo HQ - Dockedlands and Spring Street.
And he's very confident of succeeding.
The Poodles have seen the light and are on the way to future home games at Doglands.
Everyone else is paying off their $10 million debts. (Including one mob with no relevance, no supporters, and no poker machine bandits.)
Meanwhile, our mob, seems unable to even properly organize a chook raffle to get us to JO.
Thank gawd we still have the good Doctor and his wonderful memes, or all would be lost.

I don't think public transport options around Moorabbin are good enough, but grounds like Junction Oval could be built to house sub 20k games.
(Dave's edit: JO has shown it can hold crowds over 20K.)

Re: Saints homeward bound!!
The Western Bulldogs are looking to upgrade their ground to potentially cater for AFL games. Their ground already caters for VFL and AFLW and provides facilities for both local sports and the community.
So yes the Saints could look to upgrade their ground to potentially cater for AFL games. Their ground already caters for VFL and AFLW and provides facilities for both local sports and the community.
The Western Bulldogs ground is the Western Oval (VU Whitten Oval)
The Saints' ground is Moorabbin Oval (RSEA Park)
So hell yeah; come up with the $150 million and you can count me in
Just need to forget all that Junction Oval rubbish

Re: Saints homeward bound!!
Re: Whitten Oval. I'll bare my you know what in Barkly St if the Dogs ever play a proper match at a redeveloped ground. Check out the length of the ground in the images for a start, nowhere near the 202-yards it was when an AFL game was last played there. Then again, the short-arsed ground would be perfect for AFLW given that goals are fewer in some games than the soccer. What parking there currently is is gone. So, its bus or train to go there. I have vivid memories growing up in the area of the Grey Ghosts having a field day leaving souvenirs for unwitting footy fans that parked in the residential streets within cooee of the ground. Then again, $150 million is chicken feed given the way Shorten talks of of spending. Or doesn't talk, depending on what he is asked and who asks him.
But, as Doc (always at great pains) continually points out, footy and the Saints will never return to the Junction Oval. Keep putting the protagonists back in there box, Doc. Love your work!

I see Labor has promised the Hawks 20 million bucks towards the 100 mil the Hawks need to build their nest right in the middle of what should rightfully be our territory.

Re: Saints homeward bound!!
AFL corporate deals also play a part....and all of the sponsors and their free boxes guaranteed at Colonial Marvelous are brass in someone’s pocket just as caterers’ cuts, media carpark deals, utility discounts, tax write offs for depreciation of assets etc., Not playing a Marvelous game may cost AFL plenty. So it takes crafty and influential types to get the ball rolling. Cricket problems aside, the JO is GO, for one heritage match a year! And then, gradually increasing if necessary.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

But still think you are missing the big picture point
They got off their doggie butts and scored big - they may never play an afl game there they may host an interstate or pre- season game. Who knows
You can't argue the venue that is there now and this new extension is.streets ahead of ours

Hawthorn Football Club will receive $20 million in federal government funding for their new Dingley facility if Labor is elected on May 18.
The Hawks and Labor frontbenchers Anthony Albanese and Mark Dreyfus made the funding pledge on Wednesday at Hawthorn’s Dingley site, the Kennedy Community Centre.

Can't see any bicycle racks or bike lanes in the concept drawings and, believe me, that will be about the only way to get to the ground if developed as shown. In my youth, if you left your bike unattended at the ground you could guarantee it would be "re-homed" by 3/4 time.sunsaint wrote: ↑Thu 09 May 2019 3:12pmWell Trev we can agree with your statement that Doc is a great painTrev from the Bush wrote: ↑Thu 09 May 2019 12:29am Re: Whitten Oval.

But, unlike the JO, it is at least a football ground (they booted the cricket club out years ago to just below what was the Footscray Tip). The JO will never host football. Then again, you and Dave might signup with Elon Musk or Richard Branson to establish a new ground on the Moon. Or, better still, Mars! I'm happy at Docklands, though.

I think uber is promising flying cars by 2023 so I dont see getting to the WO ground to be a problem
As for the talks between Musk and Branson ( and a few un-named Chinese ) are still in the early stages but a floating island built off the Stkilda pier is gaining interest - the chinese have some expertise in this area
