The dropped mark awarded to the Hawks resulting in a goal and the 50m penalty against Brown for being a few centimetres over the mark which seemed very technical. Also what's to say we wouldn't have scored another goal if Lonie wasn't awarded the free. There were still several minutes left to play and we dominated the play for most of the quarter.

I really can't understand how creatures like Hutchisturd and Parrett keep their positions. They have little journalistic integrity.... and an equally dismal shortage of journalistic talent. Christ! I used to think Patrick Smith was a hack, but compared to these two, and Mark Robinslob He's Pulitzer prize worthy!

StKilda are 3-1 yet Barrett again has a crack at Hannebery being recruited. Does anyone honestly believe no medical was performed? This bloke is a germ.

Dan had 4-5 medicals. 100% confirmed.
Barret is looking for the negative. He is a reporter and works in the media. What else can we expect?

The scary thing is that multiple medicals were done and they all missed how stuffed his body is.

Re: Barrett, always the saints hater.
Hanners is not a paraplegic nor will a medical and the science involved predict future problems.
I'd rather our med staff get him a 100% right instead of rushing him back in like Sydney did all the time.
Get behind the bloke and wish him the best. We have him for 5-6 years.

Re: Barrett, always the saints hater.
Is the Damien Barrett MO really acceptable behaviour in today's society. It seems to be counterproductive to dealing with bullying and mental health issues. I think as a society we need to question the market place that provides fertile ground for grubby practitioners such as Barrett. Is it time the AFL reviewed its media policy?

Really don't know why? Maybe because they are very good. Hutchy isn't even a journalist these days, rather a media business owner.
Oh but this stems from something they wrote that you didn't like? Makes sense.

Sorry but is Hodge referring to Barrett?

The AFL are trying to run the game and be a media outlet at the same time. I've never understood their strategy, but it’s confusing and doesn't gell.Cairnsman wrote: ↑Sat 20 Apr 2019 10:13amIs the Damien Barrett MO really acceptable behaviour in today's society. Re: Barrett, always the saints hater.
Barret would be the guy in the school yard who takes careful notes about who is showing insecurity or who is on the rise, who is on the nose. He’d be personable, amiable, articulate and he could start a chain of whispers back in class. It’s not his fault. What are you gonna do if your are born and grew up in our school yards? It’s not easy to accepted as a nerd in a jocks world. (I speak as if I know how it all works- but I don’t and didn’t! )
I accidentally hit an iTunes button on my iPhone yesterday, (don’t u hate that?) and out comes a MMM Footy Saturday Rub wrap up! I could hear the voices of Spud, Carey and Barret. (Seems like a 100 years ago) it was July 2, 2016! Barrett was at the wheel as usual spinning up a storm and trying to tell Carey and Spud that Hardwick (Dimmer) was toast, that it has been down, down and down. Spud was quite good when he articulated an argument that, although turns out to be apparently wrong, was plausible - that Dimmer might have actually over-achieved when they pulled 15 wins out of ‘14 or ‘15 or whenever. Carey was adamant that Dimmer shouldn’t be judged at this point at all. In hindsight of course Richmond win in 2017 and not shoddy last year either. Carey looks to be in the money, Spud was very decent and Barrett sounds like a cheapskate, a nutty priest hollowing from a street corner about impending doom. BUT at that time I can’t help thinking it would have been entertaining. I admit I actually enjoy feeing the tension that Hutchy, Cato and Barret bring when they put out their dribble into a public forum. Even add that SA tosser from port Afelaide(actually Cornes brings more) . So I think Barret and Hitchy both know what they bring, and perhaps over a whiskey at night, they can break character and admit it to each other.

Re: Barrett, always the saints hater.
I actually agree with what Barrett wrote - specifically on the Hannebery issue.
We didn't do a due diligence, we paid him too much, we put him into the leadership group and then removed him.
It's a fair enough call.

What Hutchison has crafted is unbelievable. I don't like his overly robust style at times, but my goodness, what he's done with Crocmedia is mindblowing.Spinner wrote: ↑Sat 20 Apr 2019 10:39amthejiggingsaint wrote: ↑Tue 16 Apr 2019 8:29pm I really can't understand how creatures like Hutchisturd and Parrett keep their positions. Re: Barrett. I don't like him too much either, but I read everything he writes and take notes on everything he says. Why? Because clubs talk to him. He has regular blues with coaches - Luke Beverage being the famous one - but that's because he stands his ground.
I dunno...I reckon AFL media is soft as butter and here's somebody who is prepared to call stuff out. He was bang on with the Hannebery story; I'm not sure why we are defending it.
Clearly, Barrett has some issues with our club, but FMD, we've won about 3 games in 8 years...I can live with him asking some pertinent questions when it's clear that literally nobody else in the industry will.
And as always, if you don't like his stuff, why would you read his column or download his podcast?! FWIW, Sounding Board is the best AFL industry pod by a mile.
Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.
