Re: Hannebery unlikely to play AFL in first month of season
It says in The Age today that 'he hopes to return in the back half of this year's AFL season' and that he 'eyes (his) return late in the season'.
Could be anytime from Round 12 through Round 23 going by that.

Sounds about right. I doubt he will play any footy before the bye and that is at any level. Don't forget he will come back in via VFL as there is no fitness like match fitness so that's another few weeks off as well so I'm backing a July start

I bet it's making Armo feel a bit sick jogging round for Sandy. If Hanners manages to get fit enough to play, Armo has no chance of coming back in. Too good for Sandy, too slow for us now.

Watch the way Gresham hunts the opposition in the middle, look at his eyes in closeups, haven't seen it before this year. Many accused Billings of been a tad soft in the past, a debatable argument, yet no one could reasonably accuse him of that this year. He's gone up a couple of levels in hardness. I've got a sneaking suspicion that is due to the influence of Hannabery.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Mon 15 Apr 2019 9:34amAssistant coaches don’t fall under the players salary cap and don’t usually get (reported) $800k over 4-5 year deals.
Would live to see Dan as an assistant after he negotiates a deal & retires
It's about maintaining a certain level of intensity consistently. Hannabery knows all about that, our boys didn't.

What a well spent $800k!

Pretty much. Dan isn't playing yet but he's really helped the emerging mids. Much like Mitchell at Hawthorn.Linton Lodger wrote: ↑Mon 15 Apr 2019 5:47pmWatch the way Gresham hunts the opposition in the middle, look at his eyes in closeups, haven't seen it before this year. Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: Hannebery unlikely to play AFL in first month of season
Gresham is good because of himself. He has always believed in himself since day 1.
Now he is nearly 22, fit and strong after 4 pre-seasons and has played 60+ games.
Natural improvement from a young star.
Giving Hannebery credit for Gresham is a stretch, even for the most ardent Hannebery fans.

He has already stated that he is not being paid 800 grand. Far from it.

Re: Hannebery unlikely to play AFL in first month of season
I bet he is not getting 80 grand.
It has been reported he is in $800,000 per annum.
Correct or inflated, whatever he is getting over the next four years looks at this very early stage as way overs.

Indefinite?!?!
I just had a really wicked thought for a thread after the Freeman and Hannas experience and some of our other picks in years past wher we have a penchant for thinking we can fix injured players
How about: 'Saints chasing former Freo and Gold Coast star in Harley Bennell'
Or: 'Harley Bennell nominates Saints'

There's talk the Swans are willing to trade Buddy, is it our responsibility to offer him a lucrative 5-year contract?
I'd imagine Headquarters will be 'encouraging' us to.

and possibly less cost
PS Buddy wouldnt get out of bed for anything less than a 10yr contract
But it would make sense Lethers, Hanners & Frankers - the sydney party boys would be back together

Re: Hannebery unlikely to play AFL in first month of season
Ok rolly eyes, if this is not how it stacks up please enlighten me to how it does stack up.
Whether the number is 6 or 7 or 800k how does it stack up?
And don’t give me the BS he is a leader, an assistant coach, blah, blah bulls***.
The guy is paid to play footy and he’s not on the park, and this is not due to an unfortunate injury, it’s historical and we have paid for a guy that needs rebuilding like the 6 million dollar man.
So tell me how it stacks up, because I’d really like to understand?
BTW, let me guess, I’m not a real supporter

Typical Stonecold, you lack the intellect to actually respond with a reasoned answer.
Was Dan recruited to actually play in the team or not?
Cream? What the f##k is that bulls***.
The guy is paid to play football, cut the crap and the all knowing oracle bulls***.
You are making yourself look foolish, and that’s not just your grammar and vocabulary.

Is Hannebery paid to play footy or not?
Was he recruited to play or be an on off field leader and assistant coach?
Which one is it?
Surely even you can comprehend and respond to the question Stonecold.
