Re: Wilkie...Awesome!
Yes, defends very well but also knows when to leave his man. Just knows how to play footy. I guess he never got picked up as he is 2cm shorter than a KPD. But competes well in the air and on the ground. That one where he left his man to spoil Gunstan defines him as a player
Really taken Roberton's role,.. slightly less offensive than Robbo but probably slightly better on the defensive side.

Re: Wilkie...Awesome!
He won the B n F for his club in SANFL, or was it B n F in the league?
I know he was captain of his SA club.
I love his desperation, how he does like Geary and can spoil like a madman without giving away a free, so much heart.
What a bloody bargain.

Re: Wilkie...Awesome!
There was one time in the last quarter outnumbered 3 to 1. He just came charging 20m to spoil over the boundary. Paton was immense a couple of times as well.

Agree also that Paton really improved as the game went on.. looked lost in the first half but really gained his composure and contributed to the win in the endkosifantutti wrote: ↑Sun 14 Apr 2019 7:27pm There was one time in the last quarter outnumbered 3 to 1. He played a great game. Would love to see Joyce in the team too.

How did this bloke never get drafted?
We got him as a rookie.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

It just shows that we're not the only club that overlooks players. He's looked amazingly composed from round 1.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Sun 14 Apr 2019 8:07pm How did this bloke never get drafted?

Re: Wilkie...Awesome!
This bloke is a good player.
The classic 22 year old who probably wasnt ready or wasnt known at 18 but goes on to have a serious career. e.g David Mundy, Sam Fisher etc.

Re: Wilkie...Awesome!
Smart footballer. There was a moment when Newnes took a mark at high half forward and Wilkie came from behind around the boundary to present an option down the line - forcing the man on the mark to half cover him by moving towards the boundary. The result was to allow Newnes to fire a pass directly into our forward 50 for an effective forward 50 entry. Very very smart play by Wilkie.

Gun. This just goes to show there is probably quite a few unpolished gems in the lower leagues. Just need to go digging. This guy could end up with a 150+ game career. Jeez with Robbo (Hopefully)and Carlise to come back, we will have a very solid looking backline when they all get on the park together.

Didn’t Hind get 38 possies in the ressies today?
He will make 3 mature aged players in our side.
How good were Parker’s tackles?!
Love the hardness these experienced newbies bring
