Re: Jack Steven
From what I’ve read and I don’t profess to have an inside source...
Given how limited his pre-season was there’s a bit of a balancing act between managing his physical fitness, get him up to peak, recovery etc and also allowing him to work on his personal problems. My impression is he isn’t injured per’se but isn’t exactly super match fit.

I am sure that people know the true reason - and it is certainly not physical - he is getting there though - and stepping up where he needs to. In a way, it may be short term pain for long term gain!

Re: Jack Steven
Interesting to note that a few of the training reports on FB have suggested that he was hobbling in the last session and that he’s quite sore.
No idea if it’s true or not

Stuv’s weapon is his explosive pace. That wasn’t at all evident in his first 2 games.

Re: Jack Steven
I believe that it is an adjustment - not depression - and if it is so - it is from external sources.

Re: Jack Steven
I wondered about that too. The thing is however that with the amount of social support that is pbly available to him (which you’d have to imagine would be more than the average would have), it’s likely that the difficulty with the adjustment has led to some depressive symptoms.Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Sun 14 Apr 2019 10:38amI believe that it is an adjustment - not depression - and if it is so - it is from external sources.

And just to add to that, I want to reiterate that that’s purely speculation based on my general knowledge of how these presentations usually manifest...

Re: Jack Steven
Good luck to him. It's tough, and he needs the time to sort through this. As for the team, well, with all of our outs, we are essentially back to a development year, so I would really like to see that we get games into Clark and Coffield and prepare them at the highest level for 2020 when hopefully we have everyone back on board.

Re: Jack Steven
Talk of @stkildafc star Jack Steven stepping away from the game will lead to questions of his future with the red, white & black. Has he played his last game with the Saints etc ....

Re: Jack Steven
Very sad to see Jack still struggling with a mental health issue . I hope he takes the rest of the season off & gets himself well. Weather he has played his last game for the Saints is irrelevant as long as he can get back to full health that's all that matters at this stage & we can deal with the other issue later. All the best mat e

Re: Jack Steven
Damn, why didn't we have leave for mental health issues in my working days.
Boss, I need to take leave for my mental health.
Three months skiing in Europe might be help, I'll let you know when I get back.
Yes it really worked wonders picked me up really good but I'll probably need to do it on an annual basis.
It is for my mental health you understand.
