Stiff as a badger's arse v Freo
Great effort again but geez the boys were stiff not to get up. A few misses later on in the third quarter really cost us the match in the end when we were dominating. It just proved hard to score against the Freo wall in the last and they clearly played to save the game.
Three rounds in, the Saints are definitely a new side and looking pretty good I reckon. Well done boys. Its bloody hard to win in WA and we nearly snatched one.
# Sinclair dropped definitely for next week. Really bad game for some reason.
# Maybe also Parker and McKenzie dependent on how players went at Sandy.
# Acres needs another week.

Re: Stiff as a badger's arse v Freo
Our kicking for goal was off. But if we enter 50 better, we win.
Can not fault our ability to win the football. Much better... Just need the scoreboard to reflect this.

I think we are massive chances in the next 3 games too. Shame we couldn't get to 3-0 but life goes on!
We are still equal 3rd!

Sinclair has been quiet in all three matches, I don't think he got a kick today. But not sure who comes in, perhaps Coffield?
Ben Long and Parker are similar types.

Every loose ball ended up in their hands, i think sometimes we have too many at the contest both in the air and on the ground and no one waiting down or on the outside

Sinclair is not a forward neither is Acres.
We either play them through the middle or don't play them at all

How about you simply contribute something half meaningful to a thread Fireman. It's not hard...or simply stay away. Not hard either.
Thanks in advance mate.

Back to the game, not stiff, a problem that can easily be avoided but has been ignored for the last two seasons. That’s what you get.

Stiff yeah probably right too much to too few. Parker, Kent ,Bruce,Lonie,Ross,Clark & Sinclair just didn't do enough to get us over the line. The rest pretty bloody good

Re: Stiff as a badger's arse v Freo
The two misses by Jade Gresham were very poor. They were towards the end of the 3rd quarter so he was tired. But, that's what good players do - kick goals when they are tired. Both showed a lack of mental toughness. We seem to have players who can't handle a positive write up in the media - especially if it is an exaggerated one.
We were smashed out of the centre - just as well there weren't more goals scored. Standing behind your man is not the recommended approach.
It's hard to see what we did right today and yet we only just lost.

Yeah your right but he was pretty good have a look at a few others that just didn't tow the line & if they had no doubt we would have won, too many passengers has to be a total team effort .perfectionist wrote: ↑Sun 07 Apr 2019 10:04pm The two misses by Jade Gresham were very poor. Re: Stiff as a badger's arse v Freo
As much as I agree with you and respect your optimism - and do think we'll go okay against the Hawks (but lose narrowly) - and are more than a sneaky chance against Melbourne at the MCG, I honestly believe we really blew it today.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Sun 07 Apr 2019 9:26pm I think we are massive chances in the next 3 games too. We had them on the ropes and poor conversion and decision making with our forward 50 entries cost us dearly. Unfortunately this has been a significant and ongoing feature of Richo's coaching tenure at the Saints, and as such I fully expect to see us lose the next seven games, some of them by significant margins. A consequence of losing this game is the significant pressure it will place AR under by the end of round 9, which would not have been the case had we won today. But, as has been so often the case since 2014, we didn't win.
Very disappointed to only kick 9 goals in perfect conditions against the team that finished fourteenth last year.
Unfortunately our recruiters have not left us with many better to come from our reserves to replace those who should go out, as our injury list is so long, and most of them are long term.
Your friendly neighbourhood samurai.

Sinclair had zero kicks.
8 handballs.

That was there for the taking. Part of me loves we were so close on the road but far out we should be better with the ball in great conditions
