Think it was probably Ross's job to win clearances today with Steele playing tag and Dunstan playing inside. He was poor today.portosaint wrote: ↑Sun 07 Apr 2019 9:01pmWhoever was on David Mundy lowered their colours at the clearances

Re: Match Thread Saints v Dockers Round 3 2019
Should have been a couple of goals up at 3 quarter time.Would have been enough. Freo fought back well then blocked space well in last 15 mins. Could have snatched it, but I think poor centre clearances cost us - we were smashed in there. Marshall good in general play, but does not hit out to advantage enough. Need to sort this out. Kent & Parker not in it enough.

We can't rely on the kid to take huge pack marks 6 out of 10 forward entries. The way we entered was poor.

Clark disappointed with his disposal today, but keep him in, I think he will adjust.

Tried our guts out, just couldn’t buy a mark inside 50.
Thought we were going to be smashed so was at least happy with the effort

Kent to many fumbles. Acres just give him a run on the ball (not ruck). Parker I feel was overawed playing at home today. A well coached side would have won.

I did watch 75% of the game.Trev from the Bush wrote: ↑Sun 07 Apr 2019 8:57pmI guess you weren't actually watching the game. Kent was very strong.
He is hard at the contest for sure, his finishing lets him down i think. 53% efficiency.
0 tackles today, need more than that. Ben loves that.
Ben is faster, tackles(hard), makes good decisions and brings others into the game.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Dockers Round 3 2019
Poor first quarters whilst playing interstate really have been a hallmark of richos coaching.
Honestly we need the players to understand that when they get on a plane there not going on holiday.
Overall we had enough chances to win
Good effort but really disappointing

We were on it to the death, thats all you can ask. Great game and really "should of/could of" in the end. There will be a few players looking over their shoulders this week. Will need some fresh legs for Hawks game, so changes to be made. Acres and Sincs better put in blinders on the training track this week. DMac is on stuggle street and needs a spell. I'm also those thinking Kent may need a swap. Bring in Long or Young for a game.

And that os what richo does. He also hires a goal kicking specialist. At the end of the day, its the player that must execute.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sun 07 Apr 2019 8:52pmCoach gets the players to practice goal kicking at training.Crossy66 wrote: ↑Sun 07 Apr 2019 8:50pmCoach doesnt kick for goalThe_Dud wrote: ↑Sun 07 Apr 2019 8:48pm The game was ripe for the taking, but sloooow ball movement inside 50 and terrible conversion in front of goal cost us yet again.
I reckon we’ve lost at least half a dozen games over the passed 2 years from that alone. You think it would be something Mr 33% would have addressed in that time...
Lots of positives. as you said, if we kicked a little straighter we win and everyone is happy.
Everyone should be able to recognise the improvement over last year.
Think we need to rotate a few. I would like to see us go back to three tall forwards, with marshall at ff , bring in billy and give parker and sincs a spell.
The only critisim for richo was letting walters run around unchecked. Dunstan was never going to keep up so bad move.

Good effort. Poor conversion. A bit clueless heading into the fifty as usual.
Had a few passengers today - Sinclair & Acres especially poor; but very impressed with Marshall and Battle. Another great game by Steele, Billings continues to grow, and Dunstan really got into the game. Good signs.
