Hickey had a breakout year when the 3rd man up was allowed, and our game plan suited him.
But a rule change did him no favours.
But rather than adapt and correct his weaknesses, he just assumed that his height would get him through.

Saints did the right thing to offload him, they tried to improve him but lost patience.
Some ppl just aren't cut out for it.

Hope he ruins the Eagles when they play us

Gary Sidebottom was pretty good.

Despite lacking height "Pup" Sarau was marked everything and racked up the disposals.

I considered all of those. Sidebottom only played 5o odd games. Ditterich was a far superior footballer to Pup and Mynott who was a pure ruckman

King and Gardiner were passed their prime when we signed them and weren't local products anyway.

I put Rix in as a joke . He never felt a football in his hands during a game, Ever.

Stick by what I was saying as to all round footy smarts and ability. Fair way to go as a tap ruckman though. Longer is in front there, As would be Spider.

I saw them all play, including the Great Alan Morrow and Brian Gleeson, who started out as a key position player but won a Brownlow at 22 playing as a ruckman.

But hey those two started before Big Carl.

Marshall was massive. 40 hitouts and 16 possies. Most fantasy points for a Saint v Freo. Beast and he's just a kid. He is going to be huge for us going forward.

Said it before, great recruitment to pluck the kid from the VFL by the Saints. Plus develop him into an AFL standard ruck.
