Mav Weller getting a game in a top 4 side proves our list depth is pretty good. Funnily, I would take Kent, Parker, Long and Lonie to play that forward role over Mav any day of the week at the Saints right now.

Not that it's any news but our lack of star power and A grade power is what is holding us back. If only 3-4 current players move into that bracket or if we get 1-2 of them from somewhere else then a quick ladder rise isn't out of the question post 2019.

Who is our best bet to go A grade from now on?
Max King?
Clark?
Coffield?
Billings?
Gresham?
2019 will tell us many things.

If there is a point to this post, it's asking the question: Did we make a mistake in dumping Weller? The answer is NO.

I hold absolutely no grudge against Mav Weller. For a season or two he was certainly in our best 22. The Saints decided to delist him, and I for one, wish him a happy and enjoyable career.
