But that's the thing, with a <edited by mods> coach that allows/facilitates the opposition isolating him as a kicker, he is doomed. And so are we.

Sometimes he gets beaten in a contest that no-one else would ever get to. If he'd just stand back he'd look much better.

Not the first time that Gears has shown us how fearless and selfless he is when there is a contest to be won.

"The Saints jumped out of the gates, and by the time the Bombers got going, it was too late.

In a big boil over, the Saints moved to 2-0 and Essendon crashed to the exact start that will have many questioning whether the hype surrounding those formerly from Windy Hill have the guts, and ability to pull themselves out of the hole they’ve dug.

Loved his game today but was very pissed off when he tried to kick the ball over his head from
the defensive goal square !
Luckily the ball was smothered otherwise no doubt it would have gone to an Essendon forward
with an easy shot at goal.

Similar happens at ball ups (mainly centre bounce), where the ball is kicked over the shoulder
without looking & most times it goes to an opposition player. The better teams shuffle the
ball around (handball), until someone can either straighten up to pass the ball or kick sideways
but always with a target in mind.
