Re: Ahhh WTF Hanners?
Geez, it's only Rd 1 and the oily fingers on those keyboards at homes are going a 100 miles per hour at Hanners and Lethers!
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

To be honest, I'm kind of meh about it. He's a really good pick up given where our list is at, and adds huge value in experience and leadership. We need that bad.
Do I think we paid too much for him? Clearly. But until someone gets squeezed out because of it (which I highly doubt they will) then I don't care. Polec was given $700k apparently and he's an average half back flanker. That's the market.
I simply don't understand the fuss to be honest. Hawthorn gave up pick 10 for O'Meara, and he was barely on the park in his first year.
As for the 'admin' (whatever that is), aside from extending Cho, I don't see how anything else they've done is better or worse than what every single other club has done.

St.kilda were the only club interested.
WHY give Hannebery a FOUR YEAR with option of a fifth year contract when three would have been more than enough to get any deal done ?
Why make an injury riddled high risk ( cooked ) player coming off two very poor injury interrupted seasons one of the most highly paid players at the club and offer a five year contract ?
Is this a case of Simon Lethlean, who has history of lacking good judgement, making a very rash decision to recruit a player who was obviously cooked already and pay him astronomically over his worth without doing any due diligence... or is this a case of him looking after a good mates son at the expense of the St.kilda Football Club ?
Is it a case of both ?
Seems to me it's a either incompetence or corruption or both ?

St Kilda coach Alan Richardson has revealed star signing Dan Hannebery has to be “re-built” with an injury load that is now expected to see him miss at least the first six games of the season.
The Saints famously snared Hannebery during the 2018 AFL Trade Period with a five-year-deal reportedly worth $4 million.
The huge contract gamble has come under fire from critics, including AFL journalist Damien Barrett.
St Kilda football boss Simon Lethlean earlier this year dismissed Barrett’s claims that the deal was a bust for the Saints, suggesting the reporter didn’t have any source to support his strong views.
The deal has now been further stained for the Saints by Richardson’s revelation on SEN Radio on Friday that he doesn’t expect to see Hannebery on the field for the club until at least after the first month of the competition.
Richardson’s honest assessment of the Hannebery’s concerning physical state left veteran footy commentator Mike Sheehan stunned.
“If I was a St Kilda supporter this morning I would have spat my cornflakes out hearing that,” Sheehan said.
ST KILDA concedes it didn't know the full extent of prized recruit Dan Hannebery's struggles with his body when it traded for him.

Here’s some of our stuff ups:
- Under resourced compared to other clubs
- moving to Seaford then back
- Our recruiting is abysmal (Paddy, King)
- Hannas is a disaster and a stupid pickup in hindsight, he’s cooked!
- Carlisle D&D was a joke and then was suspended
- CEO hasn’t done a thing
- appointed lethlean who has made numerous mistakes as above
- Richo was a terrible choice as coach
- Geary captain
- injury management is just terrible
- War chest and our free agency of big fish has been an absolute laughing stock
- Freeman

Dan was put through 4 medicals by the Saints before signing him. Due diligence was done. He passed. They knew he had some issues but the medical team felt the issues could be handled and signed off on the 4 / 5 year deal.

Hard to take you seriously when you list King recruitment as a disaster. That is a prediction based on absolutely nothing. Re: Ahhh WTF Hanners?
I disagree as regards Max King.
I would have been disappointed if they didn't recruit King.
As it was Simon Lethlean was offering 1.3 million for Dylan Shiel which would no doubt have included pick 4.
Thankfully Dylan Shiel rejected this and IMHO prevented Lethlean from making another huge mistake.
I think Max King will be an absolute star and hopefully can acquire Ben King in a couple of years.
I think Max King and Sam Walsh are the two best players from that draft.
Time will tell.

How is that a joke? We (club desperately needing kids) recruited someone who was coming off an ACL, who hadn’t played all year in a midfield draftlewdogs wrote: ↑Tue 26 Mar 2019 7:49pmHard to take you seriously when you list King recruitment as a disaster. I wonder what a 'medical' really consists of?
Lethlean: "Ok Docs - just test to see if he can walk and that he isnt close to death."
Doctor 1 - Pass
Doctor 2 - Pass
Doctor 3 - Pass
Doctor 4 - Pass
Flying colours.

IMHO, if due diligence was truly done they would not have even entertained recruiting him to begin with.BackFromUSA wrote: ↑Tue 26 Mar 2019 7:48pm Dan was put through 4 medicals by the Saints before signing him. St Kilda coach Alan Richardson has conceded that star recruit Daniel Hannebery "needs to be rebuilt" and won't be playing for the Saints anytime soon.
The former Swan, who was a high-profile recruit for the Saints on a five-year deal in the off-season last year, has struggled with pain in his legs.
After injury interrupted his last two pre-seasons with Sydney, the 28-year-old triple All-Australian had hamstring "awareness" in the lead-up to the 2019 season.
“He’s been getting sore anywhere to do with his legs," Richardson said on SEN on Friday morning.
Particularly his calves and hamstrings, but as we’ve upped the load in terms of intensity, his body has just struggled. He’s had two years where he just hasn’t been able to put in the work.
I reckon it has caught up with him. To some extent he needs to be rebuilt."
ST KILDA concedes it didn't know the full extent of prized recruit Dan Hannebery's struggles with his body when it traded for him.

CEO has us some wins-
Steadily built the membership up to record numbers despite non finals football for 8 years.
Negotiated the stadium deal ( partly)
Negotiated the Moorabbin deal (partly)
I am not a huge fan in some other areas but will acknowledge some of his work to offer a balanced view.
Carlisle D&D???
