Re: Saints team for round one
I’d like to see Mackenzie in the side very quickly if he doesn’t make the cut this weekend! Thought we could have gone with Marshall and pierce (might still happen as it’s only the squad). Guys like dunstan, newnes, Sinclair, Lonie, savage really playing for their careers early this season!

Bench better look like
Steven
Clark
Long
Marshall
Will be shocked if any of those 4 miss (unless Steven isn’t quite ready)
Shocked that Marshall doesn’t get first crack

Interchange has to be Steven, Marshall, Clark and Phillips.

Lonie ahead of Long = Mistake
ST KILDA concedes it didn't know the full extent of prized recruit Dan Hannebery's struggles with his body when it traded for him.

We're not exactly spoiled for choice, but that starting midfield is, collectively, as one dimensional as you will ever see in the AFL.

That’s exactly who I would like to see picked, but reckon they won’t, purely because I don’t get to have nice things.The_President wrote: ↑Thu 21 Mar 2019 6:55pm Bench better look like

Witts is very tall and a beast in the ruck tapwise. So you can see why they want the slightly taller and more robust Pierce whi is also probably the better tap ruckman at present.
PIerce / Marshall tag teaming him could be a good more.
It would not surprise me if Pierces TOG is low, with Marshall used more around the ground an up forward, with Pierce's second position to be "on the pine"

Re: Saints team for round one
So you think the club is playing funny buggas this early in the year?
If Pierce is still not passing the concussion tests they would know by now, and concussion is not the type of thing that if you had it that long would dramatically improve in a day.

Re: Saints team for round one
Yeah I agree but we do have a few injuries & the Gold Coast team doesn't look that strong either so it might be a close game

Really a reflection of the dropping standard of lists in AFL
Both are very ordinary looking teams

Interchange should be Steven, Marshall, Long and Clark but I would have liked to see Hind in the team. He really impressed me in the pre-season matches.

If we can win 2 JLT’s we can beat GC at home regardless of how rubbish the team is.
How we fare against the Dons in round 2 will tell us something

Re: Saints team for round one
That's a very bad (and short) defence and the forward line is also very short.perfectionist wrote: ↑Thu 21 Mar 2019 8:22pm B:Jarryn Geary Darragh Joyce Shane Savage

Re: Saints team for round one
2 points. 1. For all the off season deck chair shuffling and hyperbolic use of "unacceptable" the team looks tre white bread, so much for lifting expectations; and 2. Harbrow will top super coach points this weekend. 3. We couldn't actually lose could we?
