IMO...
He needs to give some serious thought to finishing up.

I think the main thing Paddy needs to finish up, is backing into oncoming players, at least until he learns how to protect himself better.

Did you get a PM from tony74?

Who spends a night in hospital aged 22 when they are 'fine'?
And the Mods give me a ban
Go figure.

Talk about the old Mozza....silverhalo wrote: βSun 03 Mar 2019 12:13pm I've probably been Paddy McCartin's biggest knocker over the past couple of years but for me the best thing to come out of yesterday's game was Paddy's performance and the potential upside to his game.
Let's face it, he's been overweight the whole time he's been at the club, but now he's trimmed down considerably and it's made a hell of a difference. He's moving a lot more freely, more mobile, greater second and third efforts, his kicking seems to have improved out of sight and he seems a lot more confident in his marking.
I am just so wrapt for him and look forward to seeing how he progresses this year....the kid's gunna make it

Cool story Bro.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: βSun 03 Mar 2019 1:29pm Congratulations to Paddy. He has been diligent and put in the effort. He has given himself every chance to move his career forwards from here. The kid is hungry and wants to make it. Its all you can ask for. Fingers crossed he remains injury free.
Supporters need to be patient with these kids. They can still take 5-6 years to really come good from when they were drafted (especially big fellas). Everyone develops differently and some take longer than others to handle the harshness of AFL level footy.

BINGO!GilsAuPair wrote: βSun 03 Mar 2019 3:11pm Definitely not 'official'.
Only a full season of 40+ goals will make it official.
Until then anything could still happen and there are plenty of unknowns.

Sorry he isnβt. And it is pretty irresponsible and reckless to suggest he is, in my opinion.
No amount of sugar coating or positive vibe is going to make him better.
Paddy has suffered a series of significant concussions .
Who knows what long term damage he might already be carrying.
Concussion is not some trivial injury. If Paddy is smart and the club truly cares for his welfare he will announce his immediate retirement.
I feel for him but it is his only option for his own sake.

Could not have said it any better myself. I really feel for Paddy & I think he was just starting to develop into the player we recruited him for but he has to come to grips with the fact that his spate of concussions has made it impossible to continue IMO.damienc wrote: βFri 15 Mar 2019 10:39pmSorry he isnβt. Re: It's official......Paddy will make it
This thread is just over a week old and already appears to be looking like overly-optimistic foolishness.
We all were hopeful that Paddy would finally start to deliver on the glimpses of promise he has shown over the years but the signs now look eerily ominous.

Re: It's official......Paddy will make it
This thread was started over two weeks ago and at that time Paddy WAS looking much better. A reasonable thread to start at that time imo.Kilda wrote: βMon 18 Mar 2019 7:00pm This thread is just over a week old and already appears to be looking like overly-optimistic foolishness.

As for subsequent events, I will await an official announcement on his future.
