Mongrel Punt season preview
Ran across this site last year and rated their stuff all season. I've been waiting for their Sainters preview to drop. It's a pretty hefty read so be warned

Cheers good read and agree with most if not all
We start well and have a good run with injuries then who knows

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Re: Mongrel Punt season preview
Hard to argue and reminded me of kent. Completely forgot about him. Agree about Paddy being played incorrectly and that certain players really need to lift.
He failed to mention our lack of speed in the middle except for Steven more focusing on forwards moving there and Steele playing well
Also called out Webster who I called out last year as going to be a gun. Then injury kicked in.
Bottom line is that we have an easy draw and if we keep our players fit we will win more games but we still have some glaring holes that good teams will exploit

Yeah great article....
Loved the focus on Rowan Marshall. He is my favourite player at the Saints.
FYI... if he gets dropped after one quiet game like he has in the past. I will lose my sh#t

Great read. Healthy dose of hope tempered by reality.
"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

Re: Mongrel Punt season preview
Hard to disagree. The MP has quite a lot of good content. Generally quite balanced ... like this article.
I personally think we'll know everything about our 2019 set-up inside the 1st month (perhaps even the 2 x JLT's). Might get unlucky with a couple of results but its as much going to be about style of play and those directing / executing it. I.e. we looked awful in the 1st 2018 JLT with the same ball butchering by the same players and an inane game style. Din't get much better in the Melb JLT game after that .... and then really tailed off after the R1 Brisbane escape (after Zorko went off the ground).
And +1,000,000,000,000,000 for the AFL360 observation. Embarrassing for the club, sponsors and supporters - absolute train-wreck TV

Re: Mongrel Punt season preview
the Mongrel is a psychic guru given he called it before the club pulled the pin on AR and 360
...and its a pity discussions like the MongrelPunt cant be replicated here - in depth and inciteful and rooted firmly in the realm of reality seems to have been generally replaced with froth and bubble and with little substance

Just read that the club pulled AR from the show. Terrific idea.sunsaint wrote:the Mongrel is a psychic guru given he called it before the club pulled the pin on AR and 360
