Bad luck Hawks. Fingers crossed we escape the injury curse this year.

AFL wrote: HAWTHORN star Tom Mitchell's season is likely over after he broke his leg at training on Friday morning.

Returning in the first session following the Christmas break, Mitchell sustained the injury during a tackling drill.

The club has comfirmed to AFL.com.au an ambulance was called to Waverley Park, with Mitchell rushed to hospital.

The Brownlow medallist will have surgery over the weekend, and then begin a rehabilitation program.
Has it been confirmed that he is out for the season?

Doubt it. Should make it gor the last few games and finals

Hawks have stated he's unlikely to play this year!

Pretty much the season it seems. Bad break. It ruined N. Brown's career.

Putting Clarko and Richo in the same sentence is kind of weird.

On the one hand you have a coaching pioneer who invents new game styles that win premierships and on the other hand you have a new cure for insomnia and a follower of trends who recently enrolled in a leadership course after having already been a coach for five years!

Really sad for Tom & AFL in general . He's a gun player & I personally would like to wish him well & hope he can get back to playing again later in the year.

Obligatory comment: Injured Gun Player - Saints will be soooo into him!

Hawks will replace some of his output with "Injured Gun Players" O'Meara and Scully. And there's always another Injured Gun Player in Burgoyne.

Are you saying that Richardson is the only 5 year AFL coach who has attended overseas Leadership courses?

I'm saying some people are born to be leaders, it's in their DNA, it comes naturally.
Take Lenny Hayes for example, the man is inspirational, a natural leader and IMHO he would make an immediate impact and be a great senior coach with Ratten and others supporting this transition.
I'm saying thank Richardson for his time and appoint Lenny Hayes as the new senior coach ASAP before wasting another season. Whatever improvement is made this year will be less than optimally possible with Richardson still at the helm! I don't think the list is as bad as 2018 would suggest.

Had a bad tib & fib displaced break when I was young, the leg was never the same after it, though Mitchell will have the best surgeons available.

Also took a fair bit of time to get over mentally to get back to playing. For 12 months I used to be relieved to get through a game unscathed.

If it’s a bad one he’d will not play again this year.
Good luck and best wishes to the lad.

Sorry I misunderstood and didn't read that in your statement. You need to be clearer. However you are right about Lenny, certainly in his playing days

He's out for the year.
From the article...An ambulance was called to training and a sheet was placed over Mitchell

That’s not normally a good sign.

Especially if the sheet covers your head.
