Well, apparently Scully is now up and about and training the house down. If he plays the first half of the 2019 season, this trade ought to be investigated.

50/50 is a much higher rate than most of our list of becoming a gun.

Scully is a top 10 pick if fit, well worth the salary risk.
Yep I could just imagine the posting on here if he sat out injured for the next two seasons on 800k.
I'm looking forward to the posting after we get destroyed by hawthorn led by Mitchell, O'Meara, Wingard, Scully & Scrimshaw.
To be fair though, we have only beaten them once in nine seasons, so Scully won't be the difference when this happens. They'll probably only beat us by six points though, because that's how they win most of their matches if we're being honest.

'Razor' Ray Chamberlain was up there at their training camp too.

I'm sure Scully will be fine.
It's the Hawk recruiters that have made the real difference and brought about their 3-peat success.
Players like Mitchell, Wingard, Scully, etc... will help keep the wall-punching (from their coach) to a minimum.

We need recruiters like that.

Hmmm recruiting under false pretences isn't good recruiting, it's unethical recruiting. GWS will also be found guilty, if those goes under investigation.

It's the free market. Regardless of how much this trade seems unfair because the Hawks got a bargain they arguably don't need or deserve, both parties were willing participants. Not much difference for someone choosing to sell their unit at a bargain price for a quick sale.

Not if it's misleading to the league and the other clubs. Surely, there are rules that have been made to prevent collusion.

one of the assumptions of a free market is "perfect information". If all people in the market have the same information, they can compete on a level field. If one party provides misinformation or has inside knowledge that is not known to others, then it is not a free market. This is why there are laws against insider trading.

Or, as you used the unit analogy, if someone spreads false information that a unit is contaminated and un-inhabitable and then buys it at a cheap price, below market value, that is not buying within a "free market" and indeed is illegal.

True, but on what basis do we know that their has been misinformation about Scully’s health?

We were also interested in Scully, but couldn’t do a deal. Not because we were concerned about his health, but because he didn’t want to come to us.

I think his recovery rate has been greatly exaggerated

In which direction?

Does he have a pretty good or very low chance of playing decent football again?

Damn good player for a future 4th rounder if he plays any footy again.
