Neck tattoos and that kind of ear-rings smack of try-hard wannabe Dustin Martins.

i'm hoping the lads can make a career of it, but it seems very strange we've gone for a top pick who is a development player, and then grabbed a bunch of mature aged recruits. no doubt the editedbymods fella and his mates is hoping to field a more competitive team next year at the possible expense of building a genuine threat over a few years.

'contemporary' actually refers to 'these days'.
The sentence contains tautology.

I think calling King a development player is a bit misleading, sure he may not play next season every week, but he is not a raw athlete with no football nous that needs to be taught how to play the game from scratch. I would think he is as ready made as most key forwards that are drafted at 18, the only complication being his knee injury.

LOL [just trying to inject some funny - please don't take offence] - a series of numbers often reflects a date - so 3614 could be either 3/6/1914 or 3/6/2014. I think the latter is too young to be contributing to a forum discussion, and definitely would not have whiskers.

I blame Richo.

I mean if he was working 80+ hours per week, there is no way he could let a players ear decoration slip through to the keeper like this.

What an outrage.

probably right mr amusingname. my focus was more on the mature aged recruits. those selections are a bit bemusing to me considering we cut similary, but more experienced players. i think we need to look a few years ahead because we're years off the pace.the club obviously doesn't.

There’s not much I can report at this stage. They’re all genuinely good kids. They’re not participating in any match skills etc but working together on fitness etc, talking to the dieticians etc. I you get a chance to have a look at them ( Sandy ,Sat morning for those interested) feast your eyes on Max. You can just tell, a colt ready to go.
As for all the others...J.Long. Ready to go.

Thanks Tony. Looking forward to more info down the track. Much appreciated.

Tony, does that mean max King is over his knee injury and will be hitting the track ready to go in a couple of months?

Max when going for a mark looks like a young Kossi and when he runs a young Roo. Hate to put pressure on the kid but he really does look the real deal. As for being over the knee well he moves beautifully at the moment. But obviously early days.

Tony, can you please give a brief comment on each of the other kids? Bytel, Parker, Hind, Young & Wilkie? :D

As long as he looks like a young Kosi, but actually completes taking the mark...that would be an encouraging sign. Of course, it was probably post-cracked skull (perfectly legal block, nothing to see here) Kosi that had the marking issues.

Mate, early days but first impressions
Jack. Built like Jimmy Webster
Callum. Physically he’s ready to go
Matt. Very lightly framed, needs work in the gym. Don’t be fooled by the Tatts. Quiet unassuming bloke
Nick. Ready to go
Robbie. Tough little nut, wants to play on the ball

I mean I know they’re going to say this but they are rapt to be at the club. They all had interest from other clubs, interviews etc and they were impressed by our delivery. But as I said they would say that. They look very very happy and just want to get into it.

I don't imagine these mature blokes will take the opportunity for granted after working in the real world.
