Tackling was a highlighted aspect of his game which I’m always happy to see. Love grunt work footy. Congrats to him and well done for not giving up on playing AFL footy. Shows character.

Might be the livewire small forward we were looking for. He could play pretty quickly being 22 and the WAFL is a very good league. He has been playing against men already.

The exciting 22-year-old forward has plenty of raw ability and would improve rapidly in an elite AFL system. Parker has slotted 24 majors in 15 games for the Bulldogs and has athletic traits that will no doubt turn recruiters' heads. He is a good size at 187cm, blessed with rapid speed, loves to lay a tackle (averaging four per match) and isn't shy jumping for a speccy either.

Could be exactly what we are after.

Buckenara says: Parker is a very exciting medium-sized forward with x-factor and has AFL qualities with his speed and ability to kick goals. He’s turned his career around after finding inspiration in fellow draft hopeful Marlion Pickett and Geelong star Tim Kelly to not give up on his AFL dream and that has translated into good form for South Fremantle, where he booted 27 goals from 20 games this year. He’s a talent but he will require a club to invest in his life and put in place support mechanisms to assist him in his transition into AFL life. On pure talent alone, he has the ability to become a very exciting AFL player but he will need to grab the opportunity and take ownership of what’s in front of him if he is picked up. I believe there will be some clubs willing to back in their culture and environment to get the best out of him.

Looks like a bit of mongrel - i like it!! Fingers crossed he can make the transition. At least he's not had a direct route to AFL and should appreciate the chance to play in the big leagues...

Concerning about the away from footy needs. Reality is we don't have a strong demanding culture we used to under leaders such as Roo. Hopefully wrong but if Buckenara is right could be a go home factor if things get tough

saw him on Perth Ch 7 news, he spoke in a way that had me worried, saying he has struggled with off-field stuff. Has a partner who looks teenage, and a baby too.

Always a problem with the noongar boys but hopefully can get a couple of years out of him. It is up to the club to make him welcome, smart move IMO would have been to get pickett as well and have 2 hard nuts. warning to all though....these guys enjoy the nitelife.
