If we're taking Rozee because we have McCartin, I'm far less fine with that.
I don't want whoever we take to be playing with McCartin at Sandringham.
I want a player of AFL quality who can run kick and tackle, not a friend for Paddy.

Reading around on Social Media and the buzz floating around is Connor Rozee is the man at 4. Thoughts?
Personally, I'm not a fan. I think we should be targeting a big midfielder like Collier-Dawkins or Hately. So I would rather risk the biscuit and take Hately than Rozee but if they are after genuine pace, tackling and marking then Rozee is probably the best bet. He was a genuine contributor for North Adelaide which is handy.
Pace, tackling and marking, big midfielder or just a dam good midfielder. They aren't considering anything else. Take it to the bank.
You mean we are going to miss out again, ripped off by a bank.

. I'd prefer Smith to all of those unless we think there's some sort of long-term problem with his achilles. King is my absolute preference
Oh no not another first round pick wasted on a guy who can't run, can't chase, can't tackle.
Our medics should have vetoed McCartin's diabetes.
They failed.
Are they competent to get this achilles assessment correct ?

The thing that stands out to me about King he is that he has weapons for a forward... heโs big already and will get bigger which puts him in good steed, plus he can take a grab and put himself into decent positions to mark. He also seems to be agile enough to pinch hit the ruck.
He seems to me to be a better prospect then say Paddy
I feel prepared to back this kid in
On Connor, I find it a little harder to identify the aspect of his game that could be elite... not saying itโs not there, just that nothing stands out right away.
I'll be so disappointed if Max King is there at 4 and we don't take him - Richmond copped it for years for taking Tambling ahead of Franklin, we might be the butt of those jokes in years to come if we don't take Maxy. Big forwards with the attributes that he has do not grow on trees.....
Update from Cal Twomey about what the Saints need:-
Dream draft according to Cal Twomey: If they want midfield star factor then the Saints should look at Bailey Smith at No.4. Connor Rozee might get there, and he has genuinely exciting traits, but Smith has the speed, power and endurance mix to be a midfield threat from day one. If they just want a star, then key forward Max King should be on the radar at No.4.
We need STARS, we don't have enough A graders or potential match winners - we need to take the best available at 4 - we need MAX KING!!
Gee I think this is harder than it looks.
The AFL site has a review of the 10 drafts from 2000 on and there's some hits & misses among them.
We're making a decision based on potential , let's face it there are plenty of very good VFL players that
can't make an impact in AFL, plenty are/were on our list.
I hope we get it right.

One thing can be taken from it, more hits in the top 5 than the bottom 5 of the top 10. Obvious I know but shows the importance of not trading our 4 for Adelaides 8. Very very rare that a Dangerfield is found at 10 & even rarer that our club finds that gem.

Pretty sure itโs in relation to this, a list of his whispers that have been proven bulls***. If he keeps making them up or keeps reading big footy heโll eventually get one right

What the AFL site shows is that we are no worse than many other clubs when it comes to drafting in the top 10 - they have all had howlers.

Kevin Sheehan for me is the absolute guru when it comes to identifying talent for the draft - in his opinion there are 4 standouts this year, Luko, Rankine, Walsh and MAX KING
You might have gathered by now that I'm a Max King fan He is the obvious choice at 4, once Luko, Rankine and Walsh are taken in the top 3 - we will live to regret it for years to come if we don't take him, mark my words.
Yes I have seen him play as I've got kids that went to the same school - you couldn't help but hear the buzz around the place about the King boys the last few years and all the hype is warranted - OK, no more posts on Max King, I've said what I needed to say.

Correct. Its an imperfect science drafting.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.
Total = 1.
