Who do we select with pick 4? POLL
Assuming we still have pick 4 on draft night.
Who do you want?
Probably forget Walsh as he is going no 1.

Re: Who do we select with pick 4? POLL
I have heard we are interested in a cricketer who played 5 or 6 games for Stingrays this year with a late pick.
Melbourne also interested and might take him earlier than us due to the link between school coach who has recommended him to demons.
This guy is lean and raw and hasn’t played a massive amount of footy but has plenty of upside, good athlete, nice kick, good hands good courage.
Would take 2-3 years development minimum to be senior footy ready.
Would be a steal in the 4th round or rookie.

I want Rankine. We need x-factor to go with Gresham. Seriously all of the saints social media stuff is based around the Gresh Prince and do it should as who else is there to get excited by? Hence, Rankine if available

A midfielder, it doesn't matter what his name is as long as he can play in the midfield, inside and out, oozes x factor, sublime on the left and right, isn't injury prone, knows how to find the goals and swing back in defence if needed and can play 300 games and is a good looking rooster with a cool nick name.

Looking like most people would be happy with either Smith or Rankine.
Lol. Imagine if we take B. King!

I'm talking about the other twin. It would be a nuclear apocalypse if we take Ben over Max.

Don't think so. Aren't the King twins monolithic kids that play CHB and CHF?

Re: Who do we select with pick 4? POLL
It's not hard to make an argument for Ben over Max. Ben actually played the whole year and doesn't have to rehab an ACL. He showed ability at both ends of the ground. His 20m time at the combine was faster than a lot of mids, including Walsh, and less than a tenth of a second behind the likes of Rankine and Rozee. Rating Max against him requires a lot of what ifs, and I think Max will go first because most people believe he has the higher ceiling. It may not be universal. That 'leaked' Essendon board appears to have Ben ahead, although I strongly suspect that picture to be a troll.
Personally, I'd be happy with any of Walsh, Lukosius, Rankine, the Kings or Smith at 4.

Well that is probably more of a balanced perspective than most of the posts on here.vacuous space wrote: ↑Mon 29 Oct 2018 11:46pm It's not hard to make an argument for Ben over Max. Re: Who do we select with pick 4? POLL
I have this feeling that three of the mids will be gone before our pick. Which is why I picked King on the poll.
The only real question is around who Gold Coast pick. I reckon they will take the best available mid out of Lukosios and Rankine (if still there) and Max King. They Could take both the King boys really. They lost their bookends this trade period.
However if that was the Gold Coast plan, then they could most definitely afford to trade at least one pick away to get a later top ten and an extra top twenty. They would be fools not to.
We need a mid. We all know it.. Outside dash that can win their own ball and actually kick.
I cant shake the feeling that this year's draft is compromised by the South Australians and the go home factor. It just sort of feels weighted where those kids are going to bail at the first opportunity. We do have a good history of retention however. Depends how fearless we can be regarding this.

Re: Who do we select with pick 4? POLL
I hope the club doesn't blink...the media are trying to set us up for a fall. There's really no go home factor when it comes to SA and Victoria, and we need the best outside mid available, not a tall forward.

I agree with Gubby Allan's choice. It will be his professional legacy so he won't stuff it up.
