Re: picks
Maybe 46 gets traded for a player and they take 36 to the draft?

Re: picks
You can have as many picks in the draft as you have list vacancies for. No need to trade, they are just there...

We have many "depth" players already. What we need is some real quality to add to our list. Unless there is a deal in the wind moving down from 28 would seem to be the opposite of what we need the most.

Re: picks
Don't get this "depth" thing, we have a list of players and the team finished 16th this year and so called experts want to add more players to the list who are no better than the ones we already have on the list. So what is the point?

Opportunity to get two duds rather than one fringe - nice work.

Re: picks
There isn't one, just like the players we have recruited who will prove to be no better than what we already have. As has been pointed out by every noted scribe and anyone with half a football brain- we are devoid of top line elite talent- those types of players who can change a game, do something uplifting, can carry the team when things are going awry. We just don't have one and the current approach to trading and recruiting will ensure we don't get one

Re: picks
Lukosous back on the table for us if we keep pick 4 so dont mess it up St Kilda. Follow the logic
Suns now have picks 2,3 & 6 but they lost their KDP in May. That really strengthens the case to Ben King. In all likely hood he will not go before pick 6 as other teams don't need a KDP as much as they need other positions filled plus KDP take a couple of years to come good. So they will earmark him for pick 6.
This in turn dramatically increases the likely hood of getting Max. I.e. they will most likely be a package deal to help with the go home factor and Max is rated higher even though injured. So that is either pick 2 or 3 as they are worth the same now
If they get Max they are unlikely to get another tall forward like Lukosious rather they will pick a small forward or midfielder, most likely Rankin or Smith leaving
And look who slips to 4, Lukosious. Do we dare to dream Sainters. FYI google his highlights but not only the recent Allies game, where his disposal was a bit off. Look at a few of them and you will see the kid is all over the ground all game and doesn't seem to tire, he finds targets easily and he can kick goals. If we can we must get him

Re: picks
The counter Theory is thay we will swap 4 plus 36 instead of 4 plus 28.
Trouble is if we go any further back than pick your are out of the cream as Blakely is it available.
I suspect the Suns are taking the two SA boys and so neither Crows or PA will p at hugely overs to get 4 for Rozee. Suspect that the pick PA now have is what they are comfortable to land Rozeee with.

Re: picks
For f**** sake you guys... take off your blinkers and consider the big picture.
We have delisted 10 players and traded in 2, so we have to draft in 8. Before the pick swap we had picks 4, 28 67 and 79 meaning we would be required to draft in 4 players in the 90's or higher.
Now with 4, 36, 46, 67 and 79 that reduces to 3 players in the 90s and potentially even less considering there may be opportunity to further trade picks up to and including draft night.
If one or more of Lukosius, Rozee or Rankine is available at 4, and it is almost guaranteed that one of them will (as Carlton will take Walsh at 1) we can potentially trade out our no 4 pick on draft night to port for perhaps 5 and 15 or to Adelaide for 8 and 16 or 8 and 21, improving our draft position dramatically.
8, 21, 36, 46, 67, 79, 97 and one other (currently 115 but likely lower as some clubs will pass) looks like a pretty strong hand to gain some talent!

Re: picks
Well said. There is good reason they traded out 28. The usual hysterical approach of some won't get it.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: picks
It's a GARBAGE hand when trying to remain relevant. Hugh Goddard was Pick 21 ffs. It is PURE luck after Pick 20.FortiusQuoFidelius wrote: ↑Wed 17 Oct 2018 4:41pm For f**** sake you guys... take off your blinkers and consider the big picture.

If THAT's the strategy to rebuild our club, become attractive and is our management's idea of an AGGRESSIVE trade period; then count me out forever. Hope we get moved to Hobart soon so I can stop caring so bloody much.
Re: picks
28, 36, 46 is a crapshoot. Better to have multiple horses in the race.
Last 6 pick 28s: Sam Taylor, Lipinski, Partington, Viojo-Rainbow, Lewis Taylor, Tim O'Brien
Last 6 pick 36s: Constable, Josh Williams, Cole, Vickers Willis, Jarryd Jansen, Tim Smith
Last 6 pick 46s: Paton, Mitch Hannan, Hulett, Caleb Daniel, Riley Knight, Tim Membrey
Imo 46 ~= 28 >>>> 36. Which goes to show how much of a lottery it is.

We got Claravino and Paton in the 30's and 40's. Both look very promising.

Re: picks
My blinkers as I posted above has the 2 best SA boys gone at 4 and if so your dreams of the two as clubs paying overs is a bust.FortiusQuoFidelius wrote: ↑Wed 17 Oct 2018 4:41pm For f**** sake you guys... take off your blinkers and consider the big picture.

A first pick at 8 is outside of the guns and too. So that is a bust in itself.
