Re: Armo and Dunstan
Would still like to see Luke at the club, but Hannerbrey, Steele and Ross are ahead of him.
Armo provides depth.
Inside mids aren't hard too find these days though. We have plenty.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: Armo and Dunstan
I reckon Carlton are mad not to have a crack at Dunstan. Perfect player to give Cripps a hand in the centre while Walsh and Dow develop.
Nee!

Re: Armo and Dunstan
Isn't the clubs list management for this year to improve leadership? Does Armo fit their definition of leadership?
The club is also on the record as saying list management for this year is to improve high-end talent.
Are leadership and high-end talent mutually exclusive qualities, clearly not with say DH however Armo certainly fits the leadership category and I'd be surprised if Armo is traded out.
A required player.

Re: Armo and Dunstan
I think we should keep Dunstan. Look at Jack Redden at West Coast he looked a spud until Mitchell and Priddis went. Maybe Dunstan could do the same. I love Armo but feel like his body could be cooked.

Re: Armo and Dunstan
Dunstan hasn't been stuck behind Mitchell and Priddis. He's been the worst performing onballer getting a senior gig for several years. Armo isn't just cooked, he is burnt to a crisp. I'd take any third round pick for either/both of them.Saintnickyroo wrote: ↑Mon 15 Oct 2018 1:23pm I think we should keep Dunstan. Armo on the table - and I would have thought GCS might have nibbled
And still no contracts for Lonie Weller and Longer...
the club is a carrot dangling shop at the moment - picks picks picks

Re: Armo and Dunstan
Weller and Savage aren't even "depth" players, eh
No other club would pick them, they will just end up in the VFL.
Hopefully, some young ones will develop over this preseason (we can't develop youngies, but we can hope)
and the youngies will push these 2 down to the VFL where they belong.

Re: Armo and Dunstan
Way I see it would rather pick some young kids with late picks even ,and hopefully get some decent players, rather than putting more time into the Wellers etc on our listWellardSaint wrote: ↑Mon 15 Oct 2018 7:54pmWeller and Savage aren't even "depth" players, eh

Re: Armo and Dunstan
I would see Savage in best 22 ( statement in itself) . Weller i cant see being picked up. Newness i could see teams taking as has shown form before last 2 years. For a contender wortha late second rounder as a depth player .My gut says rated too highly by STK and therefore not biting.
Overall also a statement on how our list is rated externally - according to ladder 3rd worst and long term a case to say 2nd worst

Interesting pickup on the recruiting for leadership.Cairnsman wrote: ↑Mon 15 Oct 2018 1:15pm Isn't the clubs list management for this year to improve leadership? Does Armo fit their definition of leadership?

Is it a poor reflection on senior leaders at the club last year ?
Interesting to note thatDunstan was captain of his junior footy clubs, SA under 18 team, and part of his draft appeal was his leadership abilities. Have we suffocated that out of him?

Re: Armo and Dunstan
Maybe take them off the table and move them to the bargain bin
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Re: Armo and Dunstan
There seemed to be a pattern this year of losing games when a team got a run on against us, usually the oppo seemed to be able to take a game away from us within 5 -10 minutes, usually towards the back end of a quarter, the last 5 minutes of the 2nd in particular, and this could even be if we held a lead at the time. The game against the Dogs as one of the better examples. Didn't seem to have a player or players that could address those quick momentum changes. Are they looking for the type of leadership that can help in that area?Zed wrote: ↑Mon 15 Oct 2018 9:56pmInteresting pickup on the recruiting for leadership.Cairnsman wrote: ↑Mon 15 Oct 2018 1:15pm Isn't the clubs list management for this year to improve leadership? They should have pursued Luke Parker for that.Cairnsman wrote: ↑Mon 15 Oct 2018 10:45pmThere seemed to be a pattern this year of losing games when a team got a run on against us, usually the oppo seemed to be able to take a game away from us within 5 -10 minutes, usually towards the back end of a quarter, the last 5 minutes of the 2nd in particular, and this could even be if we held a lead at the time. Get it?
'Park those 10 minutes... we were in the game'
"Parking the first quarter... we won the game'
'Parking the 7 goal spree in 7 minutes, we were up to our necks in it'
Luke Parker.
Any1 got it?

Re: Armo and Dunstan
I would hope that positions are not pre-determined and the likes of Luke have a big pre-season and provide competition for places in the team.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Mon 15 Oct 2018 12:33pm Would still like to see Luke at the club, but Hannerbrey, Steele and Ross are ahead of him.

My biggest concern is more of the same (like drag it wrote) with Brown, Mav, Longer as the go to players.
