1. Will cost literally nothing - Freo will do this trade for a future 5th round draft pick
2. He is a gun when fit. Was an early pick and has many of the skills we lack
3. He can be signed on a one year deal and if he is out injured, out fighting or playing up then he gets the a*se after a year.
4. Why the hell not? We are at one of the lowest ebbs I can remember as a Saints supporter, so let's take a risk and see what happens. Imagine if we could get him fit and firing.

Only concern I'd really have would be the potential for him to be a negative influence on the younger mob.

It’s an interesting call. He was a star. Would require some investigation on where he is at and his body. He may not want to play. So if the due diligence is done (not just a chat and coffee) and he wants to play and we think he is going to fit then sure. As said not going to cost much but we would want a definite commitment from him not a “yeah alright if you make me” sort of thing.
