Sam Gilbert
Not mentioned as a retiring player at Brownlow
Not doing a lap today (and with 200 games he qualifies)
Seems a bit odd

Re: Sam Gilbert
Wants to continue playing. Can be picked up by any club as an uncontracted player. Hoping he gets a gig somewhere.

Re: Sam Gilbert
Noted he was not mentioned in the retiring players story in the GF Footy Record, either.
Wellard and Barney, do us all a favour and drink some vinegar, it might curb your obsessive urge to bag and bad-mouth a 200 game player who gave his all for our Club. While keeping a sour look on your face.

Re: Sam Gilbert
There are over 300 players I could name who are more 'AFL standard' than Gilbert.
He is currently ranked 313th in the AFL.

If you are still not sure who is AFL standard - I can get you started:
Luke Shuey is AFL standard
Dustin Martin is AFL standard
I can keep listing names if you still dont know.

Re: Sam Gilbert
396 players play AFL every round. Another 54 are emergencies. So 450 AFL standard players every week.BenLong#21 wrote: ↑Sun 30 Sep 2018 2:09pmThere are over 300 players I could name who are more 'AFL standard' than Gilbert.

Being ranked 313th means he is still of the standard.

Re: Sam Gilbert
Keep it up Benny you will end up with the same relevance as Con. I actually liked Con's posts until he lost the plot as well. I am surprised you never squeezed in something about the coach being hopeless like you do in just about every post you make. Anyhow keep the abuse up, it suits you.BringBackMadDog wrote: ↑Sun 30 Sep 2018 10:05pmHow many Games did you play? the way you post you must be a f****** superstar!! or just a keyboard heroBenLong#21 wrote: ↑Sun 30 Sep 2018 2:09pmThere are over 300 players I could name who are more 'AFL standard' than Gilbert.

Re: Sam Gilbert
I understand Gilbo works hard but I wasn’t following him much in those years- I’d watch Milney etc., a ton more. But just to ask, what we’re Gilbos initial strengths? What made him good in ‘08-‘10. Not dissing him in the least, just curious.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Think your long weekend went a bit too long Mr Ben Long.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Why not try trading him with GC and Wellet as a package for a 2nd round pick?BackFromUSA wrote: ↑Sat 29 Sep 2018 10:54am Wants to continue playing. Can be picked up by any club as an uncontracted player. Hoping he gets a gig somewhere.

Re: Sam Gilbert
He was fast, athletic, read the play well, good at ground level, took the game on, worked hard to provide an option on the rebound and provided great defensive pressure including ferocious tackling. He could take a forward of just about any size and accumulated plenty of the footy. His kicking was always suspect but that was pretty much the only knock on him in his prime.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sun 30 Sep 2018 10:38pm I understand Gilbo works hard but I wasn’t following him much in those years- I’d watch Milney etc., a ton more. Unfortunately injuries took a massive toll on his body and the Duthie scandal ruined his confidence. Playing in poor teams without great defensive structures around him made his inconsistent disposal even more of an issue and he was a pretty ordinary player after our grand final years.
