Why do you need to consult with each other?

Ideas off the top of my head:

Mod A does A - L

Mod B does K - Z

So posters such as me and Life Long Saint would be moderated twice as much as most other posters! Blatantly unfair!

Need to consult so that the mods are consistent. A recurrent accusation when there was more than one mod was “the mods aren’t consistent”. If everything was black and white, then yep you could take the approach you’ve suggested, but sometimes application of the rules is grey...i.e...open to interpretation. For example, the rule Simon quoted a few posts back about abusing Saints players or staff...what constitutes unacceptable abuse?? Different people have different opinions and when it comes to making a call about a warning, especially if that warning means a ban, then it’s important the mods agree. Or if a poster has been asked repeatedly not to post in a particular manner, but keeps on with it, they will likely get less leeway when it comes to a warning, but the mods need to consult about it to be sure they’re on the same page.
Important for the mods, when there’s more than one, to bring consistency, otherwise they’re open to accusations of inconsistency or even more damning, deliberate favouritism of one poster over another or having an intention to persecute a poster.

Firstly posts were reported.

Then there is zero evidence that
- Ted is Parkey (happen to be proven wrong)
- That the info posted is incorrect (have had 2 pieces independently confirmed including the Billings one and at the time of posting it was correct until Billings backflipped)

OK so on a pure football information slant - should you have posted the two pieces of info that confirmed that Billings was going to EFC?
just to diffuse the situation?

I was unaware how the warning system worked and certainly was unaware the warnings come from a post being reported and absolutely unaware that warnings & bans are given by one mod
You on the other hand must be aware how it works , and that's fine,. But I was intrigued given during my whole time here I have recvd two in response to posts from stinger and parkeysaint

I think you're right, but I still don't think it's the mods job to be fact checking people's rumours, far too much work involved particular with only one mod.

If I said 'Banger Harvey is a done deal to be head coach next year, it will be announced tomorrow morning" ~ I don't expect Simon to go and check this out... but I would expect a lot people to remind me of the post if it didn't pan out, even if I went back and edited my post to cover my arse.

All I have been told is that there will be 2 appointments in the next few weeks.
