You’re probably right, but someone suggested in the media that they may be tempted to take the King brothers to avoid the go home factor by having them both there.

May is the interesting one. If the AFL allow GC to terminate his contract to give them 2,3 & 4 then the AFL is corrupt. Another power house in Collingwood get another very good player for nothing. Just like richmond with Lynch.
Top 4 and grand finalist should be exempt from free agents unless they are loosing a player of similar value.

Most of the key position players taken in first round of the draft have been very underwhelming over the last 20 years.

For every Riewoldt and Buddy there are about 10 Mitch thorp or Lucas cooks.

Max King would’ve gone pick 1 if he didn’t do his knee. His injury comes with a risk & as a club we’ve been quite risk adverse. I’m happy to to a punt on the kid, could be anything & the injury may be a blessing in disguise giving us the opportunity to pick him which would not have been there if not for the injury. Simple strategy: pick best avail & if that’s King so be it. Don’t pick for needs like we did with Paddy when he clearly wasn’t best available.

Sorry bro but Hugg Goddard was also touted as a #1 prospect too.

We should be investigated for tanking if we take a key forward this year with pick 4.
