Re: Monster deal for Dylan Shiel
Carlisle was a little different with the drug cloud over he's head that did cost him a season. And then the snap chat snorting coke didn't help either. But we were desperate for a kdp and he did live up to the hype. Shiel for me doesn't have the same hype about him. I'd prefer other mids from he's. And pick 4 for the talent on offer this year. Go to the draft and get rankine or walsh or Smith. Whoever is left as I know walsh is a long shotwally wrote: ↑Thu 20 Sep 2018 2:04pm When we traded for Carlisle the general feeling was we paid overs but now has settled to be a good job done.
I feel the same feelings around Sheil but in time could be the same. Sure I'd prefer Trelor or Kelly or Witfield but
we couldn't afford them(deal) and they probably wouldn't want to come. Take what we can get try to do the best deal we can.

Re: Monster deal for Dylan Shiel
8 mil over six means we should be a good show...
You would think.
We cant be that bad can we?
And Carlisle probably would have snuck into the top five in our B&F if he did not miss so many games.

Re: Monster deal for Dylan Shiel
My expectations may be high or unrealistic but given the quality of our team ATM I would expect a no.4 pick to play
a fair few games in 2019, I feel we lack in development at present so if a Sheil wants to come , lets do it.
Clark & Coffield need more of a go ,Billings and some others will go better with some help .
Smith at 4 would be my pick in the draft but I don't trust our system just yet.
Then there is blokes like Acres still not getting a fair go.

Okay, make it a city mile, but Shiel is much better than Stuv (and 3 or 4 years younger). Anyway, I want both.saint-stu wrote: ↑Thu 20 Sep 2018 1:26pmI think Stuv would have something to say about that.suss wrote:I’d prefer Kelly above all but I think Shiel is the best we can hope for. I reckon he’s 4th or 5th best mid at GWS, but in the top 10-12 mids in the comp, such is the quality at GWS. He’d certainly be our best mid by a country mile. Would be helped by Hannebery too.DJ Higgins wrote: ↑Thu 20 Sep 2018 12:49pmNot really, more like saying Abigail Campbell isn't even the fastest swimmer in her family. I’d use pick 4 on Rankine personally, and hope to get Shiel with next year’s first round pick.

Re: Monster deal for Dylan Shiel
Watching Shiel, I always (sometimes), have the impression that he works in 2nd gear, or just below 1st gear.
Elsewhere, as in with the Saints & our new coaching staff, he may flourish & really show what he can do.

It is his gait , he has a peculiar one paced running style so it is hard to tell if he is quick or not. he can certainly break away from a pack sure enough though.

SEN Time On host Sam McClure has reported that Dylan Shiel has not requested a trade from GWS after his recent exit interview.
Shiel’s manager, Paul Connors, said at yesterday’s NAB Trade Radio launch that he wouldn’t be surprised if the midfielder remained at the Giants as he continues to be courted by a number of Victorian clubs.
“We can tell you tonight that Greater Western Sydney players have been having exit interviews in the last couple of days,” McClure told The Match Committee.
“Dylan Shiel has had his and has not requested a trade.
“That doesn’t mean that it closes the door fully on him leaving, what it just means is that we’re another step towards him staying in a sense of clubs will now have to come after him.
“It’s not going to be easy for him to join another club, I don’t think the Giants have necessarily closed the door on it either.”
The 25-year-old is contracted until the end of next season.

Re: Monster deal for Dylan Shiel
I think you're right, he doesn't seem to stretch out, he just goes !
Haven't watched much of him or GWS, just watched his highlights
Just get him, whatever it takes (up yours Essendon & all your deluded supporters!)

If Paul Connors is his manager we don't have a prayer, unless his knees are shot.

Are we in the box seat to get Shiel?

Box seat? What are you asking sorry?
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Whisper is that we’re not......but we need the post whisperer to confirm. Where has he disappeared to do you reckon? All of a sudden he just disappeared. From many posts a day to nothing at all. Re: Monster deal for Dylan Shiel
Most want Sheil to chose the Saints, but lets be realistic. If 90% of the footballing public think Richo is dud, surely the players have a similiar opinion. Would any of you want to play for Richo? I know I sure as hell wouldnt. I would avoid him like the plague no matter how much money was offered.
