He seems to mark and kick better when he gets a grab at high half forward and and can free wheel a bit. Just not cut out to be a gun full forward though despite posters saying he was recruited as a high marking, good kicking key forward. I think one more year should be it for him if he fails to deliver. Remember he has come back" fit as a buck rat" in the last 2 pre- seasons, yet has not delivered.Cant make a silk purse out of a sows ear.
That's great for a quarter, but no tank to run up and down the ground for too long

I think 2019 will be bye bye Paddy - my opinion

Oh, and thanks again trout....flog

He seems to take marks and use the ball better when he’s up the field, his hands become flat and he starts double grabbing in the forward line and his set shots are woeful.

Yep - a similar role to that played by Roo in his final years.
How many years can we hope that he magically turns around his inability to mark the ball in the forward line, even simple chest marks, or even kick regulation goals from less than 40 metres out?
He could be tried out at CHB but I just can't see that working. The opposition would just play through Paddy's position and exploit his lack of pace.

I was hoping he’d become as good as Jack Watts but even that low bar seems too high.

You have to LOL at Watts - after a decade at the Dees he moves and they make the finals whilst Port misses out!

Exactly what everybody said last summer.
By February Paddy already had the Coleman in his grasp according to Saintsational and the ITKs on here.

Meanwhile back in the real world Sam Weideman is a year younger and looks like a much better prospect already.

& Jayden Stephenson has kicked more goals than him in one season...and it's not over yet.

Best cut him if he means not giving up a future 2nd rounder for Hannerbury.

the concern is that his numbers have not improved year by year.

I hope the diabetes has held him back and that he can improve that aspect... because otherwise he is trending toward being a very good VFL level player, rather than AFL level

I do like him and hope he steps up next year!

Wasted number 1 pick. Will go down as the worst decision in draft history.

Should never gamble with top pick. Easy in hind sight but just silly

The trouble is everyone on here at the time knew in their gut that it was the wrong decision.

No hind sight needed. It was obvious at the time to everyone in football, apart from us it seems, that Petracca was the clear number 1 choice.

Everyone involved in making that decision should no longer be at the club.

Sadly over the last 5 or so years, we are the worse run club in the comp, making the worse decisions and hiring people who are incompetent.

For what its worth IMO Paddy will end as another Elshaugh recruiting disappointment, similiar to his class mate in Goddard.
A costly one at that. It’s turned into a very costly draft overall.

Disagree. I think Brayshaw is proving to be the best choice.

Really?

I reckon had about 3 effective disposals all night.

Just kept coughing it up to the Hawks over and over again.

Looked out his depth I thought for the second week in a row.
