I think he plays better up the ground, transition type play. He seems to mark and kick better when he gets a grab at high half forward and and can free wheel a bit. Just not cut out to be a gun full forward though despite posters saying he was recruited as a high marking, good kicking key forward. I think one more year should be it for him if he fails to deliver. Remember he has come back" fit as a buck rat" in the last 2 pre- seasons, yet has not delivered.Cant make a silk purse out of a sows ear.
That's great for a quarter, but no tank to run up and down the ground for too long

in total agreement with joffa. For Paddy the options are a key forward or bust.
He seems to take marks and use the ball better when he’s up the field, his hands become flat and he starts double grabbing in the forward line and his set shots are woeful.

Yep - a similar role to that played by Roo in his final years.
How many years can we hope that he magically turns around his inability to mark the ball in the forward line, even simple chest marks, or even kick regulation goals from less than 40 metres out?
He could be tried out at CHB but I just can't see that working. The opposition would just play through Paddy's position and exploit his lack of pace.
the concern is that his numbers have not improved year by year.
I hope the diabetes has held him back and that he can improve that aspect... because otherwise he is trending toward being a very good VFL level player, rather than AFL level

He is not mobile or tall enough to play the McGovern role. Its time the club stop making excuses and finding games for Paddy and made him earn his place on merit.
For what its worth IMO Paddy will end as another Elshaugh recruiting disappointment, similiar to his class mate in Goddard.
A costly one at that. It’s turned into a very costly draft overall.
