Take look at the bush

It's about time to take a look at the country leagues instead of concentrating almost exclusively on the TAC, SANFL and the WAFL. We picked up blokes like Lockett, Burns and the Cunninghams from the country and they all went alright. Will Farrer from Ouyen United is one that maybe worth a look and there must be a hidden gem or two running around some where and we surely need them.

Not a bad idea, because the crap they have been doing for the past 6-7 years has been atrocious. Even the club and especially the coach said the players they have are not a capable bunch or words to that effect. They have to try any method they can to recruit good players. There may be a few 'Cunninghams" out there somewhere.

A lot of the 18 year olds that get drafted from the bush have played senior footy against men. I reckon that gives the recruiters a first hand look at a player that can handle pressure and can handle the physicality.

Orazio Fantasia was pick #55 in the 2013 National Draft. He too played against men when he was 17-18 years of age. There's quite a few 18 year olds that have played SANFL or WAFL and our recruiters need to target more of these guys rather than being lazy and going for the players in the TAC juniors

They dont have to be 18 years olds either, Kelly from Geelong is a good example. They are there , you just have to find them.

Mate there was no tac on those days. Seriously. That was 35 years ago. Get with the times. St kilda just have a terrible bunch of coaches and no development of players and when trout was there was useless. He is no longer there so let's see what happens. Champion players comes from tac. St kilda can't develop players and pick up wrong players. Look At Richmond and Melbourne.

The TAC is full of private school kids or well off kids. Seen so many kids that dominate there age group get rejected from TAC teams for nicer looking players with no grunt or determination. Really missing so many talented kids with there narrow minded approach.

My spies tell me that marlon Pickett is playing good footy at South Freo- 26 years old, would run rings around most of the AFL lower clubs best players. Dont think Freo or the weagles are interested
