Re: New coaches - Skrobalak and Batchelor from Dolphins VFL
Batchelor is a nobody.
Played 84 games for Tigers over 7 years, got delisted at end of 2017.
Still young, 26 years old.
Why give him a gig on the coaching panel?
What the hell has he done?

Imagine employing a 26 year old with an average playing record on your coaching panel.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Sun 09 Sep 2018 4:07am Batchelor is a nobody.

Interesting. Skrobalak must be highly regarded.
Looks like Sexton is staying on.

Re: New coaches - Skrobalak and Batchelor from Dolphins VFL
FFS do you guys know anything about football at all? Now you are justifying the employment of coaches by comparing them to Allan Jeans. Would Skrobalac get a job at another AFL club? We have already heard about the amount of coaches St Kilda has employed, at last count about 12 inc B.Dixon and this is from a club with a deplorable coaching record and hasnt made finals for years. Why dont you start discussing that with something meaningful to hang your hat on instead of dragging up stats about allan jeans..WTF.whiskers3614 wrote: ↑Sun 09 Sep 2018 11:07amPlaying record similar to Alan Jeans when he first got the job!WellardSaint wrote: ↑Sun 09 Sep 2018 4:07am Batchelor is a nobody.

Fact is none of us have any idea of his credentials or on what basis he has been employed.chico2001 wrote: ↑Sun 09 Sep 2018 11:18amFFS do you guys know anything about football at all? Let’s hope he is intelligent and passionate about the games and brings new ideas and logic to the table.

Re: New coaches - Skrobalak and Batchelor from Dolphins VFL
Here is a less hysterical take on these 2 coaching appointments.
After seven years and 84 senior games with Richmond, Jake Batchelor joined the Frankston Dolphins in 2018 as a playing assistant coach.
The 26-year-old impressed in his role, developing the Dolphins’ young defenders and also spent time at the Saints in a part-time capacity in the second half of the season.
Talented part-time assistant coach Adam Skrobalak will also step up his involvement through a full-time development role with St Kilda in 2019.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: New coaches - Skrobalak and Batchelor from Dolphins VFL
So this has me thinking that Caracella is not coming - so Batchelor is the IP from Richmond - if I can go out on a limb and assume Harvey is coming - that means this off season we have picked up IP from Richmond, Port Adelaide, Hawthorn and Collingwood - last year we added Swans - not a bad result I would think ---- looks to me like the only guy not adding anything new is Richardson ....maybe I'll start a thread that perhaps he needs to be replaced??saint6709 wrote: ↑Sun 09 Sep 2018 11:24amSo he was on the list in tigers premiership year ? GREAT to see some positive added instead of all negative all the time.
Well done Wayne42!

If we are going to go by playing records then what were Richmond doing giving McQulater a gig?
Playing record of very little little if any relevance.

I don't know if it's just the impact barracking for St Kilda has on the brain, but some of the reactions to these appointments are just bizarre.

you have edited the post WRONGLY. The 'Harvey not coming' is from saint6709, replying to my post.
You make it look like I said it, which I certainly did not.

Need to show how good these blokes are first, not patting them on the back for being appointed at a lowly club. Of course people are going to ask questions and query appointments especially on a forum. Give us some evidence of these blokes coaching records as to why they were appointed.Beno88 wrote: ↑Sun 09 Sep 2018 12:02pm+1Faulky63 wrote: ↑Sun 09 Sep 2018 11:53amWayne42 wrote: ↑Sun 09 Sep 2018 11:39am Here is a less hysterical take on these 2 coaching appointments.

Re: New coaches - Skrobalak and Batchelor from Dolphins VFL
Totally valid point from Whiskers. Did you not understand it Chico? Just saying that you don't have to be a gun player to be a successful coach. Jeans was a GOP as is Batchelor. I bet there were a few murmurings in 1961 when Jeans was appointed Coach at age 28.chico2001 wrote: ↑Sun 09 Sep 2018 11:18amFFS do you guys know anything about football at all? Re: New coaches - Skrobalak and Batchelor from Dolphins VFL
The biggest flop at the Saints second to Richo has (was) been Peta Searle - absolutely horrendous development of players.
