But that salary is huge. Like Hanners though the big issue is what is the trade cost if it goes ahead

I think you may have been watching ‘On the Couch’ on Fox tonight, where this rumour was discussed quite a bit, infact you’ve used exactly the same words used by Lyon et al.

parkeysainter, IMO you would gain more respect on this site if you just acknowledge where you are grabbing (stealing) your rumours from. Eg. I just heard on ‘On on the Couch’, or on SEN or from Big Footy, or from South Australian radio report to qualify your statements. Most posters do this, why don’t you? Or are you such an excitable little man, you need to be first with the news of what you’ve seen/read/read you hit the keyboard before you have engaged your brain and genuinely forget to acknowledge the source? We need to pay a % of the salary cap and right now we must be so far under we might as well pay the money to Polec. Front end the contract and won’t impact in future years.
The fact is we can’t attract players so need to do something. Prefer to front end Polec’s contract than reward current blokes on the list.

Please no! Paying double the value for a winger. If they threw in Wines, I'd say good deal. Save the $$$, load up some current contracts.
We can do better with pick 4, develop Clark, Coffield, Paton, Langlands. Give Gresham, Acres and Billings more responsibility in the centre...have them take ownership.
Save the $$$ from Polec & Hannerbury for Kelly, offer him 1.2mill to 1.5mill a year for 10 years. Just get a ruckman to protect him.
Of course, keep everyone happy (players & supporters) and make Richo (director of coaches), Ratten the main coach and let Richo walk (ala Malthouse).
