Re: Freeman delisted
Disappointing, he has great hands and obviously guts. If he has lost his speed and kicking penetration then its understandable, although a tough call. He didn't look out of sorts at AFL level, I hope we rookie him.
The bar is set and there's going to be a fair few more I would think.

Nothing wrong with that and I hope you are right. In this case it was a particularly soft target. I mean Freeman’s hardly to blame for our disastrous season.

Re: Freeman delisted
Apparently Nathan has lost his pace.
We need his list space to bring in pace.
We need his list place for Hannebury.
I've supported the mighty Saintas since 1967. (Yep, still waiting.)
Have seen plenty of heart-wrenching stuff in that time. Way too much.
But..., this is the first time... ever... that I've thought that our beloved club has lost the plot.
I won't go on strike (as in, not renew my membership), but, I have now finally lost all confidence in those currently pretending to be running our great club.
Prove me wrong you bastards!!!
And bloody soon!!!

Don’t see any reason to delist Gilbert. He is a very good 30-40 player on a list

Re: Freeman delisted
Collingwood with all their money and medical expertise came to the conclusion that his hamstrings were shot.
Given they invested a first round pick on him it would not have been an easy decision.
So what do we do?
We decide to have a punt that maybe their medical advice was wrong.
And/or with our lesser resources we could somehow rehabilitate him.
It was NEVER going to happen.
It was recruiting at it's dumbest.
Why bring in problems?
It's the sort of dumb mindset that sees a team wasting a Number 1 pick on a player with an ongoing medical condition that prevents them achieving the fitness levels required to be an elite player.

Gilbert is a defender who can play tall
Has a big body that can play most weeks.
Freeman has played two games of footy.

If he helps us get over the line in 1-2 weeks when our best 29 arnt avaialbe through injury then he has done his job.

From memory: Freeman wasn't happy with the results of "all their money and medical expertise".
Not relying on memory: The Skunks didn't conclude that his hammies were shot. The Skunks didn't want Freeman to leave.

Re: Freeman delisted
Trout must have found a young kid with a great family, a good kid, who will be available at Pick 125, cause that’s where his replacement is coming from...
FMD.
Good luck Freeza, hope you find a way back into the AFL system somehow, you deserve better.

Sorry, but we are a football club and not a charity. There is no room for emotion or romance with list spots.
Cruel as it may seem, Freeman is a victim of the environment of elite level football.
Good on him for his dedication and resilience. But we have to move on.
