I agree with the above few posts....no jet speed like he once had, little defensive side and really no real point of difference and the huge issue that not if but when his string goes BANG again...
Unfortunate but I think we have been more than generous in the initial contract of 3 years.

It is a tough game and we need to toughen up as a club, lose the sentimental attitudes of 'bring back Banger' and get fair dinkum otherwise we will be riding off into the sunset (either into Tasmania or just a memory)

Given we have kept Wright on out list for god knows how many years clogging the list, I would have hoped we could have given Freeman one more year to prove he was worth the gamble. There goes another second round draft choice that we burned. Yet, Richo survives.

Given we only have 1 early pick I can’t believe we are going to draft a better prospect than Freeman.
With Wright, Gilbert, Stevens, Minchington certain to be delisted and Goddard, Hickey/Longer also likely we must have our eyes on using picks 110 and 124 on some real talent.

Have heard Goddard has been given his marching orders today as well, however nothing in media yet.

I like this decision. He played 2 more AFL games than he thought would have and to be honest he wasn't that good. We got him for pace and he isn't fast anymore, he is a below average inside mid which we have an abundance of so good call. Tough but fair. Im hoping for more of these tough calls

Bizarre.

What did the club discover now that they didn't know 2 years ago?

Injury prone? Derr.

Lost his penetration in his kicking? No s***.

This was talked about on here years ago FFS!

Why spend 10s of thousands of dollars and a list spot when we all knew this two years ago?

Don’t we have a new list manager? Not that bizarre if so.

Plenty of others down there deserving of a "ruthless decision", beginning with the coach.

Disgraceful decision. Saw both his games and thought he used the ball better than most on our list. Maybe that’s the problem!

Need to have faith in our list management.
Made good calls on Tom Lynch, Brendan Goddard and Ben McEvoy in the past so I’m sure they know what they are doing here.

Feel for him but if this is the bench mark for tough decisions and the standard in quality we want on our list, fantastic, I welcome it.

Sadly, I do not think we will make that the rule. I have no faith in Richo's faith in his favourites. This is the man who said "perhaps we should have looked at him earlier" in relation to Pierce, an area of the ground we were constantly giving up an advantage in.

Don’t like it... why now? In his few games, he seemed the equal of many on the list.

Why delist him now that he could actually play games and develop.

Delist ahead of Weller, Newnes, Savage, Gilbert, Wright...

Can’t stand it

A bit hysterical from some but I imagine the delistings/retirements to be

Freeman
Wright
Stevens
Minchington

Lonie will be rookied if Menzel comes
Mav and Armo will be traded to the GC
Longer traded for late pick

Gilbert will be kept on if he isn’t traded.

In will be
1st round pick
2nd rnd pick from GC for Weller and Armo
3rd pick for Longer
Pick 57
Pick 62
Lycette
Hannebery traded for compensation pick from AFL
Menzel

So Far

What a crock
Completely crap list management more like
He showed a bit in 2 games, why not give him the last game if we were going to delist him? Not like we got. Game into a young player
Joke
He was concussed at training last week. Couldn't play the last game.
