Is it just me or is it a bit unclear how Kingsley left...did he walk or was he sacked? I read it as he left of his own volition to join the premiers. Certainly better for his cv if it looks like he walked but did he get a tap on the shoulder?

He’s always referred to as “highly regarded assistant” in those afl website articles, whereas the other cannon fodder that we fired were never referred to in that vein.

FWIW, not a great look to lose Kingsley to the current premiers...I’m feeling very flat about everything at the moment with Richo hanging around like a really bad fart that won’t dissipate! Going to be so hard to sell hope and optimism if he is still at the helm. And so bloody ironic that the year it looks like we are going to throw the chequebook at anyone, there isn’t the ‘big fish’ we need like a dusty, like a Fyfe, a Dangerfield...

Anyone who knows about how the south Sydney Rabbitohs rebuilt from rock bottom, when u are a basket case in field and off, in terms of recruiting players, you must land a big fish, then gradually the tide turns...the whole mantra of bains’s time at the club was to fix our salary cap structure that hurt us when we were challenging, our top boys were on huge coin and we lacked the depth...we’ll surprise surprise, as our rebuild has failed to fire a shot, we are going to have to skew the financial balance by going for a few big spends...only this time it might not even be for gun talent!
