Re: Adam Kingsley GONE // Ratten + Lade joining

It has been a long time since I have seen Kingsley and Richo in the same photo or footage. I imagine farewell drinks were muted.

Re: Adam Kingsley GONE // Ratten + Lade joining
Surely this is how it is going to play out, no way known that Sexton, after 12 fruitless years at St Kilda, can survive Lethlean's cull. As Director of Coaching Sexton is the prime architect of the club's coaching woes, especially the development of young talent, the paucity of which Nick Dal Santo highlighted recently. Seeing how Sexton has shadowed Richo in the coaching box this season, I'm sure Richo will be glad to have him off his back. I don't know of any other DoC in the AFL that sits beside the senior coach matchdays, involving himself in game strategies the way Sexton does...St Chris wrote: ↑Mon 27 Aug 2018 2:54pm So Lade is confirmed:

No way Ratten gets announced until the Hawks are knocked out. I'd expect Sexton to move on to create that "Director of Coaching" role for Ratten.

Re: Adam Kingsley GONE // Ratten + Lade joining
The long term coaching staff have had a great opportunity to show their wares. Its now time to move them on. Clearly, the Saints game day style is vastly different (and worse) than most other clubs. Granted, a few good players would help.
Now, at least the game style will get a good shake up and Richardson has no option but to make changes.
Unfortunately, we can't quickly make up for the years of abysmal recruiting.
It would be nice to hear what Rooey's private feedback to Lethlean has been !

Well, one thing is for certain, the coach has a say in who his assistants are. So you don't go and recruit a bunch of assistants and then go looking for a coach.
Richo is a definite starter as coach in 2019. Whether or not he lasts the year out is yet to be seen.

"ST KILDA assistant coach Adam Kingsley has left the club to join Damien Hardwick's team at reigning premier Richmond.
Kingsley joined the Saints in 2011 and has spent the past eight years in various coaching roles.
Richmond confirmed on Monday morning that Kingsley would join the Tigers. Meanwhile, Port Adelaide assistant Brendon Lade has joined the Saints, reportedly along with Hawthorn assistant (and former Carlton coach) Brett Ratten as St Kilda shakes up its coaching panel.
Richmond football boss Neil Balme said: "We're really impressed with Adam and feel that he'll be a great addition to Richmond's coaching department.
"With 12 years' coaching experience, Adam sees the game really well, is a strong communicator, and we feel that he'll connect really well with our coaches and players, and complement our coaching program."
POWER GRAB Saints set to to nab ex-Power assistant
Kingsley follows the departure of Simon McPhee (senior midfield assistant), Rohan Welsh (senior forward assistant) and Lindsay Gilbee (defensive assistant) who were told to look for new jobs at the start of August.
St Kilda general manager of football Simon Lethlean thanked Kingsley for his contribution to the Saints.
"Adam has played a key role in St Kilda's coaching team over the past eight years and believes the time is right to take on a new challenge," Lethlean said."

"St Kilda Football Club is pleased to announce that it has secured the services of highly regarded assistant coach Brendon Lade.
The Port Adelaide premiership ruckman joins the Saints after an extensive coaching and playing career spanning more than two decades.
Following a decorated 234-game career that included the 2004 premiership, two best-fairest awards and an All-Australian honour in 2006, Lade spent seven years as an assistant at Richmond before returning to the Power as a line coach in 2016.
St Kilda General Manager of Football Simon Lethlean said Lade was a great addition.
“Brendon is a high-quality person who will add a significant amount of knowledge and experience to our coaching team,” Lethlean said.
“We look forward to welcoming him and his family to the club,” Lethlean said.
Lade said he was excited by the opportunity to join the Saints.
“I know the club hasn’t enjoyed the year they would have hoped for but there is a lot of talented young guys who I am looking forward to working with,” he said.
“I can’t wait to get started at the club ahead of the pre-season.”
Lade will join the Saints in October ahead of the beginning of pre-season training on November 7."www.saintsational.net/viewtopic.php?f=1 ... 3#p1752973

Kingsley is now going to give our ace game plan away to the Tiges, just like Max Hudghton and Luke Ball did when they went to the filth.

Re: Adam Kingsley - GONE // Ratten + Lade joining
For all we know, Kingsley might be a gun and Richardson just couldn't communicate his strategy to the group. It may be all on Richardson.desertsaint wrote: ↑Mon 27 Aug 2018 12:03pmagree, hopefully both are out of the club sooner rather than later. Kingsley may be useful, and improve under a new coach and club, but was sinking at ours.rodgerfox wrote: ↑Mon 27 Aug 2018 11:57am I can't accept it as coincidence that the year Kingsley takes over the role as 'Transition Coach' which was responsible for ball movement and switching between defence and offence, we totally and utterly sucked arse at ball movement, and switching between defence and offence.
Either he and/or Richardson had to go. It was a total non-brainer.
Only time will tell.

The fact that Kingsley got snap-hired by the reigning premiers the moment he became available does not fill me with confidence.
Yeah nah pleasing positive

McWalter ( currently Richmonds center coach ) or Xavier Clarke ( Richmonds development coach) could be a good get...
