Steven is 28. I’d hear an offer
No defensive run.
Can't hit a target by hand or foot.
Might get a third round pick for him.

Yesterdays paper says:

"It is believed that the Saints are keen to secure picks four and five to draft the 200cm King twins, Max and Ben"

Surely we need A grade midfielders first ?

I agree. How long is Jack Steven contracted for? When does he become a free agent? Unlikely to play a significant part in any future flag campaign. Seems to me he has lost a bit of zip and spark. Not as explosive as he was at his best. Will he ever return to that level? If a high pick is on offer, I’d seriously consider it.

Everyone on our list is available apart from Gresh and Carlisle IMO.

Tempted to add Pierce to that tiny little list.

Unfortunately with Pierce, we just don’t have enough data... inexplicable I know as he’s been on the list for 5 years or something...

My feeling is he’s a better tap ruck than Hickey and better around the ground than Longer. We need more of a sense of what his ceiling could be, what he could bring when he gets beaten and how consistent he is.

Lot to like there though IMO

FFS , you get rid of Steven and Ross and replace them with who? ok trade in 2 good midfielders who are a tad better and win 2 extra games and still finish 13th, say beams and hannebery. You need to keep Steven and Ross and trade in 2 good midfielders and then push up towards the 8 in 2020.
Cant follow that reasoning that Steven wont be there for our next finals push....so move him on now.....crazy ideas. If that happens you deserve what you get and that is another bottom 6 finish. Need a 101 principle on these forums...How to be smart when trading. Dont trade your biggest ball winners when you havent got ready made replacements and in this case you need 4 because Acres and the rest wont cut it.
