It's Luke Ball all over again. We have no pharkin idea.

Er Luke Ball was a captain of our club and I don't remember a braver player then suddenly on the outer after what, over 100 games. I like Freezer but dropped after two so-so efforts - I don't think you can really compare.

(although I can only agree that we do have no pharkin idea!)

Absolute shocker. Best way to piss off supporters is to drop Freezer. Again Richo no plan , no change and no idea . Watch the members walk .

OK, it is the most stupid decision since Dean Rice got the flick and went to Carlton to play in a Premiership.

Strange how Freeza spent much time on the bench in the second half last week when we were getting creamed by the Essendon onballers. Ratten will play him more next season

Alan Richardson you are an incompetent and inept coach.
You have been playing garbage like Newnes, Geary and Weller all season.

You sat Freeman on the bench, while we were getting smashed in the midfield.

Freeman has actually shown some real promise. and racked up more possessions last week than your favourite - Newnes...WITH MUCH LESS GAME TIME

If you cannot make rational and logical decisions on basics like team selection....Do the right thing by the club and its members and resign. RESIGN NOW!

I don’t know enough about these players being a newbie (Post Lyon malaise) but I’m just wondering, would you think the goals of the match committee are a) win these last two games at all costs 2) give x,y,z players ‘a go’ before the season expires (maybe even give them performance targets) 3) tank?

Theory: AR does not like Freeman (long time to put him in and then begrudgingly) and Lethlean wants some players he has pencilled in as to be delisted or placed in the DNP unless everyone else is injured category until contracts expire: Sinclair, Newnes, Rice and possibly Lonie in that group to have enough rope - looks like Weller already has a line through him. So they play notwithstanding Isaac Smith got at least 24 Brownlow votes last time he played on Sinclair (a record for one game). Trade off, Freeman in cotton wool for 2018. AR expecting to be flogged has beefed up the size of the defenders. Will be good to see Austin and Goddard in the same team and Rice against classy forwards and good delivery. None of this considers the possibility they are selecting to win.

on second thought I'm glad inept Richo has dropped Freezer and is playing Newnes...another 50 point hiding will add to the pressure to finally get rid of this spud of a coach.

Has anyone heard anything about whether it’s a management thing. If he was on the bench for a while then maybe there’s something more to it. Tightness soreness????

I just heard he was as very average on SEN? And I think after so long in the sidelines, a couple of games, then a rest make good sense. Especially at this end of th season. Try again next week. I know I am not a sportsman, but I swim, and after a long break, the second and third swims are torture. (By the way I got 4 kicks in the under 15cs , over the season)

Noticed not much expression or outright happiness at Richo on the video announcing Freeman to get his first game...just "bla bla Nathan Freeman". I reckon Richo had a lot of pressure on from most Australians to play NF and didn't want to, and is using the slightest cop-out to drop him.
Richo: .."err Freeza., you need to look at Newnsey, Sincs and Armo..that's how you play the game son...and none of that kicking or handballing to teammates in the clear..it's not on- back to the VFL for you!!!"

He has been named on the interchange bench for Sandy.

Yes, but Freeman was actually playing in the VFL before his two games....

I'm thinking the same thing. Played relatively low minutes last week. I'll be interested to see if he plays VFL on the weekend. Could be part of being ultra conservative with him.

He is due for surgery on his shoulder (?) at season's end, maybe they're putting him in early? Do we know if he's named in the VFL yet?

Named on the VFL Interchange bench

But we select Geary on the back of the picnic the small Essendon forwards had last week, Rice and Webster the same, Newnes, Sinclair and a few others

Then the Coach prefers the “skills” of the likes of Longer

The Coach selects in his own image of an honest but very average player

His selections have lost me

And confirmation of me being right and him wrong is the plight of St Kilda on field

Austin Goddard White
Roberton Carlisle Coffield
Freeman Acres Billings
Long Bruce Battle
Gresham McCartin Membrey
Hickey Ross Steven
Clark Steele Marshall Draft Pick

Too tall?

Get real, the poor bloke has been busting his gut for five years. He is not up to AFL standard at the moment!

To be fair, Freeman was pretty average in two poor performances, and I got the impression he struggled to run out both games.

And I reckon Freeman himself would be OK with the decision. Like a lot of new players he's had a taste of the big league and now he knows how much more work he needs to do to get to the required level.

Slandering our coach for this is a bit harsh.

<Grudgingly> It's probably a sound enough decision. Trouble is, seeing Freeman play would have been one of the highlights of the game! Have to make do with Goddard.

55% game time

That's how much game time Freeman got against Essendon.
Now he has got dumped.
Richardson must hate him.

If Freeza had been taken at No1 instead of No10 he would be gifted games even if he was in hospital being operated on.
