The Dees are pretty confident they are getting Gaff. If you were him, and you had the choice between us and Melbourne on similar deals, it would be a no-brainer after this season.
Bradshaw's brother and mum will be thrilled if Gaff lands at Melbourne. Will make for a full and frank discussion on his arrival.
Actually there is another Brayshaw brother - Hamish Brayshaw - who also plays for West Coast Eagles, I wonder how things are panning out there at West Coast, might be a bit of friction.

Ouch , that is even more awkward. Thanks Loris.
Bit strange.
Gaff evidently played golf with both brothers last week.
100% agree with Jaxons, he won't cop out and leave the Eagles now. Will serve his time and try to redeem himself. Brayshaw will recover and should come back stronger than ever. Gaff will carry this shameful act to his grave. Having such an impeccable record up until this match it's going eat at him nonstop.
WEST Coast chairman Trevor Nisbett says he still can’t believe one of the AFL’s cleanest players Andrew Gaff punched Andrew Brayshaw — a friend off the field.
As expected, Gaff has been referred directly to the AFL tribunal, where on Tuesday night he will likely receive a hefty suspension.
“I think five days ago the (Brayshaw) brothers and Andrew Gaff were on the golf course together so it’s an extraordinary situation we all find ourselves in,” he said at a media conference in Perth.
Gaff has apologised for his ugly and brutal punch to the face of young Docker Brayshaw.
Gaff connected with Brayshaw’s face in the third term of the local derby in Perth in an incident reminiscent of footy’s wild days in the 1970s.

Pretty strange behaviour… I reckon he connected a lot better than he was planing.
reckon you're right. wasn't much of a punch, but just hit the worst spot with momentum adding to the force.
seen far worse with far less outcome, but you do the crime...reckon he'd be feeling pretty embarressed and disgusted with himself at the moment.

Brayshaw out for season, can’t eat solid food for four weeks. Gaff has to go for six at least. Should also be the end of his season.
I think the AFL will look to make a statement as the public mood about viscous punches has moved.
Hall got 7, but really got 10 reduced to 7.
I would tend to think that that Gaff will get 10 or more.
Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
6 weeks...so he'll be available for a Grannie (if they make it)...wouldn't be unbelievable, seeing the AFL's form over the years.
In any case, his club is backing him and doing all they can to soften the damage, they've got the sneakiest QC they can find on the job, me thinks Gaff will re-sign with them and repay the faith. On the other side, Worst Coast might even leverage the event for a cheap deal.
Our A grader will end up being Hanaberry and a wheelchair on a 5 year deal.
I believe Gaff when he says it was a stomach punch that went wrong. If you watch the footage it is in that style. In saying that he has openly admitted he made a huge mistake and is generally sorry for what happened. I think he will take whatever punishment on the chin and wear it. 6 weeks seems likely as the AFL will want him to play in the Grand final if west coast make it and if they don't he is punished next year as well so kind of a win win
If we could still get him for a discount now as he is tarnished than we should but we still need outside speed

Gaff is exactly the type of player we need. The club needs to do its utmost to get him. It would also do the membership drive wonders.
Aaaah
A case of bad Ti .... ming
(What a difference 4 days makes!)
I still think he'd be worth having. He'll learn his lesson from this indiscretion and move on.

8 weeks....should have been 12 IMO
His statements were stupendously bad...did everything he could to make it a longer suspension. Wasn't feeling frustrated, trying to punch Brayshaw in the guts, NO, wait, the chest...his QC must have facepalmed so hard he'd need a concussion test! Probably why he got 8 instead of 6 weeks.
ouch. another media driven suspension. they get them off when it suits, they get their scapegoats when it suits.
afl have to back it up now and start suspending any punch. and our game grows more vanilla. just a bunch of prima donna professionals turning up at the office soon. next it be red cards, then the divers will come out to play, we'll have video reviews out of our arse, to fit them in the game time will shorten, may as well be watching soccer.
