There has been talk that it would cost $1mill to pay out Richo
I do not know if it is the answer to our woes.
I do not know if the way forward is to can the coach
I do not know if someone else would do better.
But I am willing to stake $25.00 on it!
Oh - and there are 40,000 members.
Think it worth a mutiny????

Re: There has been talk that it would cost $1mill to pay out Richo
If he's only got another 12 months on his contract, I'd assume we have to pay out the 12 months, or with some negotiation about 75% of the remainder of his contract.
At a guess I'd estimate Richo may be on a salary of about $500k, so to pay him out for the remainder of this season and all of next year would be a maximum of $600k, but by negotiation about $450k.
Assuming the average membership costs $250, if we payout Richo we 'break even' if we save or increase 1,800 memberships.
Selling memberships is about selling hope and I'm afraid the brand Richo's offering is not very sellable.

Richo has to go - for us to recoup the cost of his sacking would happen only if we somehow replace him with a gun coach.
Obviously Clarko would do it but that’s extremely unlikely.
I can’t see anyone else coaching wise that would stop the membership rot that will hit us hard next year.
Maybe Sam Mitchell as senior coach perhaps???

I heard from somebody that could / should know, he is only entitled to a 3 month pay out.

What the hell is the club waiting for then?? A flying banner from all the saints fan?
A pile of turd in front of coach's door a la Frawley at Richmond?
Sorry, I am venting on a poster individually. Just the club management...

Whatever skills or attributes Richo was supposed to have had at PA, clearly he left them back there when he moved to the Saints. I expect the various forms of communication with the club, will be bogged down with the ultimatum of- new coach or we don't put our bums on seats in 2019.

If Richo is still in charge in 2019, I fear for the existence of our club.

Not much difference in sacking him now or after the home & away season.axcellence wrote: ↑Sun 05 Aug 2018 12:04pmWhat the hell is the club waiting for then?? A flying banner from all the saints fan?

If this payout figure is true, he’s gone. Simple.

If the 3 month salary payout is true then the board are smarter than we think. Can only hope.

Re: There has been talk that it would cost $1mill to pay out Richo
If he can be payed out for 3 months with over 2 years remaining what is the point of a contract?
Great news if the club has that in place. It's time for a change.

Re: There has been talk that it would cost $1mill to pay out Richo
Obviously Richo negotiated this to ensure 2 more years thinking that the club would make finals this year. Wait until end of the year and lock in pick 3 and then get rid of him. Obviously a development coach and nothing else.

Re: There has been talk that it would cost $1mill to pay out Richo
It is $500,000 to move him on end of the year.....fact.
We are crippled with debt, plus his salary sits in the soft cap meaning it is hard to get someone great in next year unless you do a deal to backend their money.
People need to put up or shut up.
Put some money in and help get rid of him, the CEO and Board that have put us in this mess, or shut up and do nothing.
Simple really.

A concession for Richo getting 2 years when he was undeserving. The club gets stability & insurance, Richo gets 2 years or at the very least a nice severance package.

Re: There has been talk that it would cost $1mill to pay out Richo
Surely we can’t keep Richo on beyond this year he’s a proven fraud & the club will lose more money on memberships & merchandise if he’s retained. No brainer for mine, cut him loose & own the mistake.jaxons wrote: ↑Sun 05 Aug 2018 1:36pm It is $500,000 to move him on end of the year.....fact.

Re: There has been talk that it would cost $1mill to pay out Richo
we blew it hiring richo. should have gone with williams as was originally intended and set up a transition from him to an understudy like ratten, caracella or hayes.
we had the opportunity to hire an experienced premiership coach, who went on to help develop the richmond team into a premiership outfit. instead we hired a bloke with no senior coaching experience, and no real success as an associate other than supposedly being viewed as okay at his job by unsuccessful coaches.

Appreciate the info mate, but you can keep the backhanders to yourself... people are upset and this is the place for them to discuss and vent their frustrations.jaxons wrote: ↑Sun 05 Aug 2018 1:36pm It is $500,000 to move him on end of the year.....fact.

more likely people will take their money out of the club until richo is gone.jaxons wrote: ↑Sun 05 Aug 2018 1:36pm It is $500,000 to move him on end of the year.....fact.

the club could always sack him and then ask for one off donations to help hire a new panel, but supporters aren't going to throw more money at the club as it currently stands. the board themselves as individuals could always set the example by donating their own momey.

Bloody hell...what a debacle. Is he contracted until the end of 2019 or the end of 2020?jaxons wrote: ↑Sun 05 Aug 2018 1:36pm It is $500,000 to move him on end of the year.....fact.

So we’re stuck with shifting the deck chairs around on the Titanic .....i.e. sacking assistants.....whilst the bandleader remains the same.

We get far less value for our money than a Melbourne metro supporter;
you folks get entry to all home games (country folk would find it hard to get to many games)
For a long time, Saints only played once a year in Perth, until 2017/2018 when they came over twice.
I get entry to some Etihad home games, but I have to fly over
If Richo stays in 2019, I refuse to pay up.
But if there is a new ticket to oust the pretenders and install a new Board (as tony74 said would happen if we remained shite)
I guarantee that I will:
1. Vote proxy to help the new ticket
2. I will chip in $250 to a fighting fund to pay out Mr Fairy Dust and Rainbows.
You can take that to the bloody bank.
