If st.kilda was to have a coach like Paul Roo's would players like billings, ross, dunstan, newne's get a game ?
There are too many players just standing on the boardwalk.
I also think the core issues with st.kilda at the moment is the committee, something isnt right and we are never going to know !
I think Geary is a great leader/talker but has no balls, he needs to have some grunt and make players accountable for there actions, that also applies to the coach, no more of this soft " dont worry about it " approach.

But for god's same st.kilda work on your kicking, cause thats what is hurting us, and to me it seems they kick too quickly and sacred of the hit/knock that might happen.

We need players like De Goey, Dustin Martin, Pendlebury, Sidebottom, whose skills hold up under pressure.
We only really have Gresham who performs well under pressure -whose skills hold up.
Coffield and Clark are showing some good signs, maybe.

Was Acres recruited for his kicking skills?
Was Ross?
What about Steven?
What about Geary? What about Gilbert?
Anyone can chip the ball around - under no pressure.

Our recruiters need to have some non- negotiables - we need to recruit - and only recruit - skilful players whose skills hold up under extreme pressure. Full stop.

I think the recruiters probably addressed this in recent years, just need to wait for natural selection to kick in.
Clark, Coffield, Freeman, White, Rice all use the ball well. Long and Marshall are pretty good most of the time and add Roberton and Webster and you have added 9 good users to a team of 22 - Nearly half a side. With nine players potentially coming in, and a few retirements i hope the skill level will increase significantly.
Just need to add one two class mids as FA's and grab either Smith or Walsh from the draft and develop them properly.
I dont think we are too far away.

1. Covered in other threads. Too expensive and no one in place to take over. Look for our 2020 coach now and Richo goes another season
2. Easy to say tough to do. Would they want to come to us if they have other options? Mitchell an assistant with view to 2020 top job if he can actually coach
3. Id trade out a few of the inside mids and HBF as we have too many.
Billings will flourish at another club, he just isn't under Richo. Tough call but if he went and became a star we would look stupid. Stay and he under performs and loses value we look stupid. Can't win but I would keep him and hope he hardens up
Acres always promising but rarely is amazing. depends what pick but probably
Newnes. Yep trade him if the pick is fair
4. agree but Seedsman has injury issues and Scrimshaw is a HB. Pass. Plus our players wont have much currency so will most likely get some other teams problem players
5. Absolutely. I am pretty sure that we have the only captain not consistently in our best 22. He does good things but also silly things that cost goals. I'd remove the captaincy and then next year see if it makes him play better. I'd make Coffield, Lukious or Walsh captain

Trade Billings...I would in a heartbeat, yes. I think he is soft and inconsistent, as well as a poor overhead mark, however he is a good ordinary enough player to attract a balanced trade.
Acres I would keep at this stage, as he has shown more potential.

Armo for Scrimshaw....what about Armo and Weller for Scrimshaw? A two for one deal?

Ending Richardson's contract...I think it will happen regardless, so the question is do you take a financial hit now, or 2 more years of pain... That is a discussion in its own right. Especially if a better coaching option becomes available next year.

Sorry to be historically anal. He was indeed placed under house arrest, but wasn’t executed. He died of old age at 77.
